'Days of Our Lives' (DOOL) News: James Read Thanks Fans For Support - Waves Good Bye To Salem and Clyde Weston“Days of Our Lives” (DOOL) actor James Read (Clyde Weston) took to Twitter on October 20 to thank fans for their support, their kinds words and most of all for watching the daytime drama. Kassie DePaiva (Eve Donovan) tweeted back that he will be missed. DePaiva has also been let go but her scenes will air through early 2016.

Read also thanked the writers and TPTB for giving him “Great material to go out on.” On Tuesday, October 20 Clyde’s son Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) stunned his father when he confessed that he is the Necktie Killer. Clyde vowed to keep his son’s secret and they shared an emotionally charged and tearful good bye. Clyde Weston was then hauled off to be extradited to Florida.

Waving good bye to Salem and to “Days of Our Lives” Read posted on Twitter, “Clyde’s Last Ride – Had a fabulous time in Salem – thank you for watching and for all your kind words and support! Rock on, Days!” Kassie DePaiva wasn’t the only co-star to wish James Read well. Billy Flynn had nothing but good wishes for his former co-star. “You and your talent are very missed my friend.”

Though his tenure was short his character left behind an interesting history with occupations ranging from drug dealer, trucking company owner and club owner hailing from Poplar Bluff, Missouri. “@jamzread you will be missed! Enjoyed out time in soap world together” tweeted DePaiva to which Read tweeted back, “thank you, Cougar Mama! Loved hangin’ with you.”

Not only were cast members sad to see James tenure on “Days of Our Lives” end so soon, fans were as well. Clyde Weston was a character they loved to hate. Fans comment on James’s tweets saying, “Clyde was the best & creepiest villain. We’ll miss you!” and “I loved to hate Clyde. Your last scenes with RSW were awesome.

James Read may have ended his time as Clyde on “Days of Our Lives” for now – but you never know what to expect when it comes to daytime drama. There’s always a possibility someone who has left Salem will show back up some day.
