‘The Young and the Restless’ News: Eric Braeden Addresses Rumors That Victor Newman is Leaving Y&R – Confirms Status

Arguably The Young and the Restless’ most important and best known actor, Eric Braeden, has been plagued with rumors that Victor Newman is leaving Y&R. Rumors of this sort often begin when a soap star is involved in a deep and dark storyline, especially as the ‘bad guy.’ Fans, often a bit hysterically, imagine that since their star is being painted into a plot corner, that they only way out is death or prison.
Victor Newman fulfills all of the above criteria on Y&R these days. The Fake Jack plot of which he is mastermind is not something that The Moustache will be able to walk from simply. Even ignoring the two recent murders (Austin and Courtney), in which Victor might be tangentially involved, at this point Mr. Newman is guilty of conspiracy to kidnap, kidnapping, theft, fraud and a host of other seriously felonies. When the house of cards Victor has masterminded comes crashing down there is seemingly no way he will be able to avoid lengthy prison time, or worse!
So we see why fans fear that Victor Newman might be leaving The Young and the Restless – there is no easy or clear storyline at this point that will let the old smoothly slide out from the legal wrath he will face after the inevitable bust. Fortunately Eric Braeden took to Twitter on April 15 to address a loyal fan’s concerns that he was leaving Y&R. As you can see in the tweet below the wonderfully talented Eric made clear in his unequivocally firm manner that all these rumors of Victor Newman’s impending departure are just that, mere rumors. Phew! We can’t imagine a Young and the Restless without Victor pulling the strings of the Genoa City charcters from behind the scenes.

I hope he is not leaving but if he is guilty of Austin’s and Courtney’s death.he will never be forgiven.

He also was in the tv series Combat in a few episodes. Always good to watch him!
I must disagree with Florence and agree with Annemarie. E.B. and Victor have both become bullies. E.B. is the most overrated character on TV. It is definitely time for him to reture. This would open up so much storyline and give fans hope that evil deeds do get punished.
I think Victor is going caught soon Flack is getting a little to confident.

Victor Newman is the young and restless the show is great but its already loss the great Jeannie cooper I don’t think it would last without victor newman.

I love Eric Braden but there times I hate the things he does as a Victor Newma..I don’t believe he killed both of them..I think it is Kyle or Auto himself because I don’t think he is dead.

I have been watching y&r since the first day it come on.victor makes the show. He does the name Ruthless justice and ruthless. He does not need to leave the show besides what will happen to poor Niki.

It’s time for Victor to pay the piper. He is a horrible character that claims to do these things for his family but with kin like him who needs enemies.
He wont leave. Although,the show has survived without Jeanne Cooper. I miss her alot.
Victor is the best on show without him everyone quit watching as hes the main man or person on show keep him on
I am tired of everything on the show. It’s time some things be resolved. Every situation last too long. It doesn’t matter to me who leaves or stay but make the show more enjoyable without everything just dragging.

Victor is Y&R. I do not like the way the writers changed him. Some of the storylines are stupid. He is not a killer. If a stranger entered the police station, he would have been noticed. I want the murders to be solved. The stories draw out to long. I fast forward though a lot of it.
Victor Newman is the glue that holds the young & the restless together, I can’t imagine the show without him.
Victor keeps the story interesting I can’t imagine the show without him on it.
I’m tried of the Newman’s getting away with everything they do include Niki, summer.call me crazy what child allows another person to let someone trash talk their mother in front of them that’s unbelievable and yes I think Victor Newman had something to do with Kyle’s death justice for sharon.

Think they are taking plots out too far now and have turned Eric’s character totally ruthless. Regardless of the
fact the it “for the family”. I think in some cases it has gone too far, tho I still watch & don’t want to not see him.
I’m degusted with Sony for not giving Eric the salary he deserves. He makes the show. I have been watching this soap from day one. I’m seriously considering to stop watching after 30 years. You will never win anymore Emmy without your key players.
