‘The Bold And The Beautiful’ (B&B) Interview: Don Diamont Discusses Bill Spencer’s Behavior – Will He Change For Katie?

'The Bold And The Beautiful' (B&B) Interview: Don Diamont Discusses Bill Spencer's Behavior - Will He Change For Katie?“The Bold and the Beautiful” (B&B) star Bill Spencer isn’t going to change anytime soon says his portrayer Don Diamont. Trying to become a better man just isn’t in the character’s nature and Bill will never pretend to be someone or something he is not. What he is? A megalomaniac – and that will NEVER change!

Asked if Katie Logan Forrester (Heather Tom) could ever make Bill want to at least try to be a better man, Diamont is quite adamant – even if he does you will never hear Bill Spencer admit it. Diamont dished in the latest edition of CBS Soaps In Depth, “I won’t let Bill say it. Number one, I can’t stand how weak that statement is. And number two, that’s simply not true to who Bill is. I can’t imagine him saying it.” Don reminds “B&B” fans that in their wedding vows Katie specifically promised to love and accept her husband for who he is and she must stay true to that vow. Spencer’s family and friends may not always like the way he behaves, but they have to respect it. With Bill Spencer what you see is what you get.

Katie may not try to change Bill, and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) – for the most part – accepts his dad as he is – but Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) and his mother Quinn Fuller Sharpe (Rena Sofer) certainly are trying to change the brains behind Spencer Publishing. Even Ivy Forrester (Ashleigh Brewer) may want to see Bill change just a little bit. Is it too much to ask that Bill give Wyatt the same chances he has given to his brother Liam? All Wyatt wants is an opportunity to prove he’s just as good as – if not better than – his brother Liam.

But that’s not in Bill’s nature – at least right now. No one is going to force him to stop playing favorites with his sons. In time Bill Spencer may come around – but as Don Diamont says, don’t expect his character to ever say it out loud!
