Y&R Wild Speculation: Matt Clark Victor’s Son, Explains His Weird Compassion Toward the Monster?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has been remarkably charitable to Matt Clark (Roger Howarth), the man who terrorized his family for decades.

There’s zero reason for Victor to act this way. And yet he’s given him a job, food, housing and a chance to redeem himself.

What gives?

We have a very incredible idea as to why Victor is being charitable to Matt, one that strains credulity yet makes perfect sense in the soap world.

Matt is Victor’s Son?

In the June 19 episode, Victor had a very fatherly talk with Matt. As Victor droned on, Matt sat in his chair and listened obediently. It was the perfect father-son scene of an elder imparting advice to his son.

What if Matt is Victor’s son?

Stranger things have happened. Victor is a man of the world. It was on one of his travels away from GC when Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) was conceived. During their screen time on Friday, there was no animosity from Victor even when he laid down the law with Matt.

Victor Spawned Matt?

Victor gave Matt a bag filled with goodies, including an ankle monitor! But when Matt questioned the need to be treated like a convict Victor didn’t go nuclear on him and Matt conceded that trust has to be earned.

Even when Victor explained that he would send him straight to the slammer if he got out of line, he used a gentle voice and manner. There was no bombast or ferocity. In contrast Victor is treating his own wife like piece of dirt.

Victor Acted Like a Decent Human Being

Anyone casually watching this scene and not really paying attention might think Victor was talking to his son. And that’s what got us thinking. There was a connection between the two men that was odd given their connection on paper.

What Happens Next in GC?

It’s not odd to think that Victor has children all over the world he doesn’t know about—lots of men do. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that Victor fathered Matt and knew nothing about it.

We know nothing about Matt’s past but we do know that the most recent talk between him and Victor gave off father-son vibes.
