Y&R Spoilers: How Is Nick Going To Protect Marie After Her Estranged Husband Ends Up Dead?

The Young and the Restless spoilers show that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is in the middle of a terrible storyline, and it actually doesn’t have anything to do with drugs or addiction.

It’s all because of Marie (Jade Harlow). After her estranged husband shows up and puts his hands on her, he ends up dead on the floor. Nick didn’t call the cops this time and has promised to protect her, no matter what.

A Promise

Nick has been rebuilding himself from his lowest point, and this is the last thing that should be put on his plate right now. But that’s exactly what’s happening. Marie was just defending herself, it’s pretty cut and dry.

However, Nick promising to protect her isn’t quite the same as allowing the police to do their job. We might understand if Marie had purposefully killed him, but that’s not what happened at all.

They could have easily called the police, told them what happened, and while it may have been a scary moment in their lives, ultimately, it would have turned out for the best. Instead, they’re incriminating themselves by trying to get rid of a dead body.

What Happens When The Truth Comes Out?

Anyone who has watched the show for more than five minutes in their lives knows that cover-ups do not fade quietly into the night. Somebody is going to discover the truth, and it’ll be at the worst possible time.

Nick will be just getting out of rehab, restarting his life, and the truth will come out about how he hid a dead body with Marie. It’ll completely crush everything he has worked for.

My money is on Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). She’s already been known to snoop on people, and while she may not be the one to come out with the news in an effort to protect Nick, the secret will leak one way or another. The point being, Nick can’t be trusted right now.

He’s in rehab, struggling with addiction and making terrible decisions. Marie needs to come clean with the truth and clear up this entire thing before it goes too far, if it hasn’t already.
