Lily is keeping some major secrets, so could the fallout lead to Cane looking for comfort from someone else?
Y&R fall preview spoilers indicate that Lily is indeed holding back some info that’ll cause problems with Cane soon enough.
Lily is choosing to keep something under wraps, so her relationship with Cane is going to suffer once the truth comes out.
It seems likely that Lily’s trip to Chicago is connected to whatever she’s buried. Lily’s history will affect her present and future with Cane, so their new chapter won’t seem as secure as it did before.
Cane has been eager to move in together and keep the momentum going when it comes to his reunion with Lily. Instead, Lily’s big secret is going to derail things and leave Cane feeling uncertain about the road ahead.
It’s possible another man will be part of the equation if Lily is concealing an old marriage that she’s trying to end and sweep under the rug. Lily has spent enough time off-screen over the years for that to be an option.
Then again, Lily’s secret might involve something else entirely, but Cane is going to feel blindsided by shocking news no matter what. Cane might be angry and devastated enough to turn to another woman for comfort.
It could be Cane’s way of retaliating after Lily’s secret hits him where it hurts. It could also be a way for Cane to ease his pain a bit, so things might take a passionate turn with someone else.
Cane has a romantic past with Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), but Daniel Goddard was playing the role at the time.
That said, the show’s been pairing up younger guys with mature ladies lately, so even Billy Flynn’s version might be drawn to Traci once more.
Cane could at least plant a drunken kiss on Traci or something along those lines. It’d be funny to see Traci’s reaction to that and watch her try to put Cane’s focus back on repairing things with Lily.
However, if Y&R wanted Cane to have some truly sizzling scenes, maybe he could cross that line with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver). Audra seemed enamored with “Aristotle Dumas” once upon a time, so Cane might channel that energy and pull her closer.
It’s even possible the show will simply hire some female day player to let passion erupt with Cane.
No matter how it all plays out, Cane may feel the need to seek comfort from someone other than Lily once he gets burned by whatever she’s hiding.
