Y&R Recasts Jill Abbott, DOOL Vet Cast

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that there’s a new Jill Abbott in town!  Fans of the CBS soap opera were taken aback when Jill Abbott appeared  on Monday’s episode, and it wasn’t the iconic Jess Walton.  Keep reading for all the details, here’s what’s coming up next on Y&R!

Days Of Our Lives Actress Joins Y&R Cast

According to Young and the Restless comings and goings, the role of Jill Abbott has been taken over by Days of Our Lives fans fave Lauren Koslow.

The veteran actress is currently appearing on the Peacock sudser as Kate Roberts, and has played the role off and on since 1996.  According to reports, Koslow’s final DOOL air date is scheduled for June 2025.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say that the unexpected recast is just temporary and Walton will be back for her character’s next storyline.

Where Is Y&R Star Jess Walton

Per a new report from TV Insider, Walton is perfectly fine and there was just a scheduling conflict when the CBS daytime show was filming.

TV Insider revealed, “Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts, Days of Our Lives) is returning to The Young and the Restless for a brief stint as Jill Abbott, temporarily filling in for Jess Walton.

Due to a scheduling conflict, Walton — who lives in Oregon — was unable to travel to Los Angeles for an upcoming story arc, prompting the soap to call on Koslow.”

Ironically, this is not Koslow’s first time on The Young and the Restless.  If you were watching the CBS soap back in the 1980’s, then you will remember the actress from her previous Genoa City role as Lindsay Wells.

She also appeared on their sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful as Margo MacClaine Lynley from 1987-1992.
