But no, it might not be exactly what you’re thinking, because it has nothing to do with the current drama with the Newman and Abbott families.

Per the latest reports, The Young and the Restless Executive Producer Josh Griffith will be stepping down from his position. In his place, will be Sally McDonald. However, it’s been noted that Josh will still remain as the head writer of the show.

Now, whether or that means the storylines on The Young and the Restless are going to change moving forward, remains to be seen. Then again, a lot of fans are hoping that’s going to be the case.

Clearly, The Young and the Restless fans had a lot to say about the matter on social media.

Some have even taken to social media to weigh in with, “Hopefully this is the first shoe dropping! Will things actually improve and if so when will we get the new material?’

Another critic wrote, “When they made Sally co-ep I was hoping they were working on having her take over eventually and now they have (I do not believe for one second JG stepped aside willingly), so I bet they’ll be pushing him completely out soon.”

And then there was this comment as well: “Finally some good news! I hope they’re working on replacing him completely. I’m hoping CBS forced this and they’re secretly looking for a new writer. I wouldn’t be surprised, they’ve done this kind of thing before.”
