Y&R News: Joshua Morrow Has Something To Celebrate

The Young and the Restless fan fave Joshua Morrow has something to celebrate this week.

The Nick Newman portrayer made his Genoa City debut over three decades ago, and this month marks the soap star’s 32nd anniversary on the CBS daytime show.  Keep reading for all the details!

Joshua Morrow On Y&R

The Young and the Restless was Joshua Morrow’s first major acting gig and he hasn’t ventured away from Genoa City ever since.

Nick Newman debuted on the soap opera on June 21 1994, and has been a central character ever since.  It’s hard to imagine the show without Joshua Morrow, and 32 years is HUGE deal in Hollywood.

In a recent interview with She Knows, the Y&R star remembered back to his first day on the set.  In fact, it was his first job EVER.

And he got to film his first scenes with the talented Heather Tom, who played his sister Victoria Newman at the time.

Joshua Morrow joked, I’d never done a job, not a single job in this world, and I just assumed it was like an all-day thing. I had four scenes with Heather, and I was done at 8 in the morning. I was like, ‘All right, well, what do I do now?’ They’re like, ‘You go home.’”

Is Nick Newman Leaving Any Time Soon

There are always soap casting rumors floating around the world wide web, but fans never seem concerned that Joshua Morrow could be leaving the soap.  After 32 years, it’s safe to say that Nick Newman is here to stay.

No matter how crazy things seem to get in Genoa City, there’s no reason to believe that the soap will ever kill off the character.  If Nick does exit, it will probably be because Joshua Morrow decided to retire.

Do you remember watching Morrow on Young & Restless in the 90’s?  Can you imagine the CBS soap opera without Nick Newman?
