Sullivan’s Crossing Season 5 Gets CW Premiere Date

Sullivan’s Crossing fans have been waiting for weeks to learn the future of the popular CW drama.

It was looking like the network might axe the Canadian series all together for a while.  Today the network announced that Sullivan’s Crossing will live to see a fifth season.

But, you’ll have to wait a while to see it on television.

Was Sullivan’s Crossing Cancelled

There has been a lot of drama behind the scenes of The CW’s drama Sullivan’s Crossing.  After season 3, fan fave Scott Patterson was killed off and there were doubts about the show going on without the Gilmore Girls legend.

Sullivan’s star Patterson even spoke out publicly against showrunner Roma Roth and cited “creative differences.”  According to Roth, she chose to kill off Patterson’s character Sully and that was why he didn’t return.

Regardless, TPTB got it together and produced a fourth season (which aired its finale last month in June 2026).

Sullivan’s Crossing Season 5

After the Season 4 finale aired on The CW, there was MORE drama behind the scenes.  Roma Roth reportedly stepped down as showrunner, which caused rumors to begin floating around that the series had been axed.

However, we can confirm that Roth is still working on the Sullivan’s Crossing as a headwriter and will be involved in the new episodes.

Today The CW released an official statement confirming they had picked up another season of the series.

Roth was quoted in the announcement saying, “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished alongside our valued partners, crew, and cast and remain committed to guiding the series as we continue to build on our success with Season 5.”

Unfortunately, Season 5 of Sullivan’s Crossing won’t be returning for at least a year.  The earliest we can expect to see new episodes on The CW would be spring of 2027.  Are you happy the series wasn’t canceled after all?  Will you be tuning in to Season 5?
