‘Sister Wives’ Star Leon Brown Faces Fan Backlash After Controversial Request

Fans don’t quite get the reasoning behind Leon Brown’s latest request. TLC viewers originally got to know the youth from their time on ‘Sister Wives,’ as the only child of Kody and Meri Brown.

These days, they’re doing their own things on social media, and even promising to come forward with their transition story. But the thing now is that he doesn’t need a fanbase bothering his private little life.

Leon Brown Calls Out “Pushy” Fans, Says “Don’t Say Hi”

Leon Brown may not want to entirely exit the spotlight, but if he’s going to be playing this game, he’s going to be doing it on his own terms.

The ‘Sister Wives’ alum recently took to TikTok to call his own fans “hypocritical” for wanting him to function at their own time.

“I grew up in a cult and then on TV when I was 14. And I’ve been trying to share my story,” Leon, 30, who goes by they/them pronouns, shared on Wednesday, June 24. “I posted a video a few weeks ago just expressing my desire to share my own story, before I do that I want to set some boundaries.”

“To start, I have gotten some comments, sort of pushy comments, being like, ‘When are you going to post this?’ I just want to make it clear — no one is entitled to my story. No one is entitled to my time. Anything I share is something I want to share. I’m doing this on my own timeline.”

Driving the nail in, they added, “I’m not out in public to be people’s entertainment, or to be consumed by people. I’m out in public to live my life. So if you see me out, don’t come say hi.”

Fans React To Leon Thomas’ Request To Be Left Alone In Public

The celebrity life can often carry opposing ideologies. The fact that they share their life in public, and they still demand for privacy can be upsetting to some fans, not to add counterproductive. If everybody just up and ignores you, then you’re no longer a celebrity, now are you?

But on the other side of the fence, it can feel overwhelming when fans don’t want to place a restriction or limits on the privacy invasion.

It’s like when we share some things on social media, no one expects you to offload the rest of your life just because you’ve shared something. So why must we always expect it of celebrities?

“Private but sharing makes no sense,” one fan, nevertheless, griped. “I am pretty private but let me post about my life!! Please,” another follower agreed.

“As someone who’s watched every episode of Sister Wives since 2010 – I probably won’t scroll past. But your words & energy don’t match. Words: I’m private. Energy: see me,” a third commented.
