‘Counting On’ Alum Josh Duggar’s New Prison Comes With One Surprising Advantage

In 2021, reality TV star Josh Duggar was convicted for receiving and possessing material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Several years later, the father of seven is finding himself at yet another prison, after being moved to a medical facility a few weeks back for an undisclosed condition.

However, his new incarceration center has certain qualities that may make it a bit more bearable than his previous ones.

All We Know About Josh Duggar’s New Federal Prison

After serving four years of his federal sentence in FCI Seagoville, Duggar was transferred to a medical facility in Fort Worth.

As he continues to appeal a judge’s decision to reject his latest appeal, he has managed to find himself yet another home in the way of a new federal prison located in Oklahoma.

The location puts him that much closer to his wife Anna Duggar, and, well, his true home. The disadvantage here is that the Oklahoma City prison is a federal transfer center for inmates awaiting their permanent prison assignment, so his stay there may not last for very long.

However, if he’s lucky, he might squeeze into the list of permanent residents, who are left there to handle cooking, cleaning and various service jobs.

The downside is, since the soon-to-be-transferred inmates are usually not required to participate in these tasks, one might find themselves working harder than usual.

At present, a spokesperson for the Bureau of Prisons has declined to comment on whether the new facility is meant to serve as a new permanent center for Josh, or if he would be moved back to his old one at Seagoville, Texas, soon.

Perhaps he might even end up at a new facility altogether. Wherever he ends up next, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind it if it was much nearer than the 350 miles from Tontitown of his Texas location.

Even though speculations arose as regards to the 38-year-old’s health when he was transferred to the medical facility in May, his spokesperson told TMZ that it was just “routine” and that the disgraced reality TV star was “fine.”

Since his conviction, Duggar has appealed his sentencing a total of four times. The latest appeal is still ongoing.
