Will Sister Wives end up being cancelled like other shows on TLC have in the past? What does this mean for TLC and the future of Sister Wives?
Is This History Repeating Itself?
Let’s be honest, this is not the first time that TLC has faced such a dilemma, but it is certainly a difficult situation to deal with. Josh Duggar from 19 Kids and Counting has been incarcerated for years.
Of course, Josh wasn’t put in prison for what he did to his sisters and the babysitter. Josh was arrested for child pornography possession years ago and received over 12 years in prison.
When the story about what happened with his sisters came out, TLC released Counting On, and 19 Kids and Counting was removed from the network lineup.
Now a similar situation has come up with Sister Wives, but TLC seems to be handling this much differently.
Mikelti Brown Petron Recently Opened Up About Molestation
Mikelti Brown opens up about being molested when she was younger. Mikelti says she was molested by a neighbor and was punished for telling her parents what happened.
Apparently, Christine Brown Woolley and Kody Brown had a strict no tattling policy that even included acts such as molestation.
Mikelti confided in Robyn Brown when she came into the family and Robyn helped he to deal with the situation.
Mikelti came clean about this on a recent podcast, it seems that TLC is not too happy with this revelation.
Mikelti said, “Here’s the bad part though: the show, the powers that be, the network, TLC, whatever, essentially got wind through these articles [written about my interview], and now [my husband] Tony and I are under a microscope.
Because they’re like, ‘OK, this makes us look bad. We don’t look good. This could hurt our reputation. We need to protect ourselves.’”
Mikelti Brown Blames The Press
Mikelti may have spoken her truth, but she has also gone on to blame the press for TLC being upset with her revelation.
Mikelti feels that the press has taken the podcast and twisted it into something else entirely.
Unfortunately, no one forced Mikelti to talk about this situation or reveal what happened in the past.
The only thing that was ever mentioned on the show was that Robyn helped Mikelti when she needed it that most.
Regardless, Mikelti has the right to speak her truth and to let the world know what happened to her in the past.
TLC could have chosen to cover this themselves, however, fans are now accusing Mikelti of wanting attention.
How do you believe TLC should handle this situation? Does Mikelti deserve backlash for revealing that this actually took place?
