Savannah Guthrie pleaded with social media followers to come forward with information, no matter how small, as the deadline for Nancy Guthrie drew near. Clearly distressed, she also took the time to mention that the law enforcement work very hard, around the clock.

The Deadline Neared & Then Passed

Brian Entin Investigates shared the video of Savannah who looked extremely stressed and sad. He related how two letters had arrived. One of them demanded $4 million by Wednesday or $6 million by Monday. However, despite previous appeals by the family, no communication took place.

Obviously, they’d love proof of life, but it seems whoever might have her 84-year-old mom isn’t talking to anyone. In fact, there’s been a lot of speculation that it might be a scam.

And in fact, one former NYPD officer suggested the first video the family made was carefully crafted by the FBI. Sadly, he believed that the family might know or deeply suspect that Nancy had passed away.

The Desperation Was Evident

Of course, it’s not impossible that the older woman passed away given that she required critical medication and has a pacemaker. So, it seems very real to hear the sad desperation in Savannah Guthrie’s voice.

Several times, she pleaded for people to help, no matter how small. In full, she said to her camera:

I wanted to come on and just share a few thoughts as we enter into another week of this nightmare. Um, I just want to say first of all, thank you so much for all of the prayers and the love that we have felt, my sister and brother and I, and that our mom has felt because we believe that somehow someway she is feeling these prayers and that God is lifting her even in this moment and in this darkest place. We believe our mom is still out there.

Continuing, the Today anchor turned to how much they “need your help.” Then, she talked about the effort by the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s office, saying, “Law enforcement is working tirelessly around the clock trying to bring her home, trying to find her.”

So, as far as she’s concerned, “prayers are wonderful” but they need more than that. Pleading, she said, “no matter where you are, even if you’re far from Tucson, if you see anything, you hear anything, if there’s anything at all that seems strange to you that you report to law enforcement.”

Finally, before asking for help again, Savannah Guthrie explained, “we are at an hour of desperation.”

Take-Aways From The Appeal

What can we all take away from that apart from deep sorrow? Well, she seemed to confirm that Nancy Guthrie was abducted. Plus, she indicated very strongly that law enforcement work every hard to find her. And in that, it seems they are not close to a breakthrough in the case.

Recently, the New York Post related how an expert suggested that ransom notes might have even come from outside of the USA. Perhaps that’s why Savannah also mentioned that it doesn’t matter where folks are, that they should report any suspicions to the police. Of course, there’s no evidence that her mom is even anywhere in Tucson.

This is a case that gripped people across the world. It’s an unusual kidnapping with no negotiations. And perhaps it’s even an elaborate scam. But for now, as the family go through their desperate time, many people just care. They pray for a miracle, and possibly, someone who heard her, or reads this article, will remember something that didn’t sit right with them.
