Savannah Guthrie, famous for the Today show, faces a terrible nightmare as the search for her mom becomes more than just a missing case; it seems more like a true crime. Now, other updates all seem to confirm something bad happened to Nancy Guthrie, 84. Read on to find out more.

Treated As An Abduction

On Sunday, reports surfaced that Nancy seems to have been abducted from her home in the Tucson area of Arizona. Plenty of media are all over the story because of Savannah’s high profile. One of them was Brian Entin who traveled to Tucson to check out the property.

On Tuesday, he went into more details on his Brian Entin Investigates podcast. Notably, he didn’t report back with any good news. “There’s blood up on the front doorstep,” Entin said.

Plus, he also talked about how the front door “Ring camera”may have been ripped off. Additionally, he said that the sheriff’s office confirmed the missing camera forms part of the active investigation.

Officials Become Less Informative

Bringing his followers up to date, Brian also said that the FBI stepped in, and potentially, that might indicate a cross-border element.

Unfortunately though, the feedback from the sheriff’s office seems scaled back. And, Entin thought that it might be due to the presence of the FBI. Often, they seem a bit tight-lipped.

Notably it was Sheriff Chris Nanos who previously said the evidence shows Nancy was “removed from that home” against her will. Plus, he talked about using “Rapid DNA testing” to figure out whose blood it was.

There Are Ransom Notes?

Importantly, reports surfaced that make it seem like a true crime went down. Regarding that, Entin talked about alleged ransom notes. One note sent to TMZ supposedly described exactly what Nancy was wearing when she vanished. Allegedly, it included a demand for Bitcoin.

Joining Entin on the podcast, retired FBI agent Maureen O’Connell gave her take on the claims. She said, “If they describe exactly what she was wearing and it’s definitive enough to dial into that, then yeah, that’s a very important letter.”

In the meantime, it was noted that Savannah Guthrie waits for answers. However, forensics can take a bit of time. So, it’s perhaps not likely that she’ll hear more positive news in a hurry.

Forensic Evidence

Expanding on the blood on the doorstep, O’Connell raised a theory about how Nancy was taken. “The blood droplets are generally round in shape, which means that they came from directly above as opposed to being cast off,” she explained.

Since there weren’t any bloody footprints leading away, she added, “There’s a chance that she may have been carried out.”

On top of the DNA possibilities, Retired FBI agent Jeff Bennett added his thoughts. From his experience, he believes that technology’s going to be a huge factor in locating Nancy Guthrie.

That means plenty of checks in the immediate neighborhood. Plus, the possibility of “search warrants” for digital devices. Not limited to phones, they might include “cars…watches…So many things we have are connected to the cellular network and that location information is critical.”

Savannah Stays Close To The Case

Savannah Guthrie naturally won’t be doing her coverage on NBC’s Olympics, so she can stay close to her family and possibly assist the investigation. Brian Entin said several times how his heart goes out to her and the family of the Today show personality.

In the comments section, many people thanked Brian for his report on Nancy Guthrie. Some of them loved how he reached out with his thoughts to the TV personality. And, others liked his clear reporting that doesn’t include a lot of hype.

Viewers React

One viewer wrote, “This is absolutely the best broadcast for honest, educated information without the hype. Thank you Brian. You are a skilled and respectful interviewer.”

Here are a few more responses from the discussion:

  • I live in Nancy’s neighborhood at the other end towards the mountain, been here 35 years and rarely if ever hear about a crime up here. We are far out of the city and it takes some effort to get up here to the mountain…thanks for coming into town Brian! I’m so glad you are on the scene…this is highly suspicious and no way is it random!!
  • I feel sick over this. What is wrong with these people today. I pray she is returned home safe.
  • When I need FACTS, I always know to turn to Brian’s reports. Thank you as always, Brian. Prayers for Nancy and her family. This is so heartbreaking and scary.
