Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seldom get directly involved in American politics. However, Donald Trump’s remarks at Davos upset them, particularly when he spoke about NATO and Afghanistan. Read on to find out why Harry might be feeling a bit disappointed right now.
Harry Jumps Into Politics?
On his Daily News Headlines vlog this week, royal expert Neil Sean opined that Prince Harry and Meghan figuratively jumped into the political arena and judging from the report, it seems like they got more than what they bargained for.
The whole thing began with Donald Trump’s recent comments on NATO and Afghanistan. Actually, mainstream media reported on it, and the BBC noted that “Prince Harry, who served in Afghanistan, says ‘sacrifices’ made by NATO troops ‘deserve to be spoken about truthfully and with respect.'”
Other Notable People Were Also Angry
Actually British PM Keir Starmer also felt angry about it. Well, Harry and Meghan seemed in agreement with those who criticized Trump on the issue. Nevertheless, Sean didn’t hang about in slamming Harry and his wife for saying anything.

After all, he lives in the USA these days.“You would think that Prince Harry might be slightly grateful and a little bit more gracious given he’s in a foreign land that’s given him a home, right? No,” Sean said.
In his opinion, it seems wrong for a guest or visitor in the USA to openly slam the president. So, Sean opined that his statement seemed “very ill advised.”
Trump’s Apology
Well, mainstream media noted that Trump actually gave an apology. But, according to Sean, it wasn’t to Prince Harry. “What I can tell you is that he’s…written to his majesty the king, the right honorable Keir Starmer and Prince William,” Sean confirmed. Instead of saying anything to Harry, Trump went directly to the likes of senior royals and the UK government.
Notably, those are the important people that Harry turned his back on when he relocated stateside. Actually, it seems like a bit of a snub because official channels completely ignored the Sussex couple. “Now, this has got back, oh yes, to Harry, right?” Sean said, hinting at Harry probably feeling excluded.
Sibling Rivalry?
Sean suspects it’s more about that sibling rivalry than policy. “The bottom line was that Harry wanted to upstage his elder brother,” he opined. Of course, Prince William, bound by royal protocol can’t respond to politicians.
So, in the opinion of Neil Sean, Harry saw an opportunity. And, the royal expert dissed it as “It’s simply political” within his rivalry. Notably, being excluded from the apology might make Harry feel he got less of a victory than he hoped for.

In the comments section, royal family watchers responded to the royal commentary, and one of them opined, “Trump doesn’t owe Bunker Harry an apology.”
Here are a few more responses from the discussion that followed:
- President Trump loved your Queen, he had the highest regard for her. He hated how Harry treated her, and thinks Harry has no class.
- Trump is never going to give Harry the time of day and if he did, it would be an eviction notice.
- Harry is too rude, stupid and arrogant to behave properly. He wasn’t well brought up. He expected an apology from the US president? Bwahaha.
