I’ll tell you someone who isn’t having the best day right now. It’s Prince Harry, the Duke who is being dragged all over the internet for not being able to improvise anything, following the teleprompter cutting off on Wednesday, September 23.

The Duke was just getting into the good parts of his speech when the teleprompter cut off, and he quickly exited the stage with a frown and a “and that’s it.”

Harry’s AI Warning Gets an Ironic Twist

Fans are not impressed by Prince Harry, who arrived on stage at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City, to issue a message of doom on the fast-paced advancements made by AI.

However, for someone who preaches that younger people are becoming over-reliant on technology, he drew a total blank the second the autocue machine glitched.

The glitch happened just as the 42-year-old Duke was taken shots at Big Tech companies, and warning on how the rapid advancement in AI technologies could affect children, as well as the planet, as a whole.

But, even though he unceremoniously exited the stage, he was made to come back 40 minutes to finish it. By which he prefaced the rest of his speech with, “Hello again. So AI got into my speech, so I was asked to come out and finish it. Interesting to see what it was so concerned about in part two.”

Critics Pounce on Harry’s Awkward Exit

For someone who has made it his mission to champion the adverse effects of technology on humakind, especially when it relates to children, Prince Harry left a lot to be desired on the Clinton Foundation stage.

As a result of this, fans have marveled over the way he didn’t last five seconds once he could no longer read his speech straight from the teleprompter.

One fan commented, “I get it’s thrown him off but not being able to come up with coherent thoughts of your own in that moment is extremely telling.”

“It is deeply embarrassing for Prince Harry, that his only response to his autocue switching off, is to say ‘and that’s it’ then walk off the stage,” another fan blasted, noting, “No thank you for listening or bring here, no attempt to even continue the speech.
