Prince Harry Breaks His Silence on King Charles After Their Highgrove Reunion

This July saw Prince Harry arrive in the UK to kickstart the one year countdown to Invictus and take part in other charitable works.

Sometime during his stay, he was privately joined by Meghan Markle and their kids. Together, they visited King Charles and Queen Camilla at his private country residence, Highgrove House, marking the first time the elderly monarch had seen his grandkids in two years.

While details of the visit remain under wraps, Harry was reportedly heard telling guests at the Time100 Sports Gala that his father was “doing great.”

This Thursday, 16 June, Prince Harry surprised fans by putting up an appearance at the Time100 Sports Gala held in New York City.

The appearance comes as the Prince traveled to the UK and reunited with his father. The reunion, while private, has been rumored to be an amicable one, with Meghan allowing Harry to take the lead in repairing relations with his estranged family.

While Harry is yet to publicly address the meeting, Page Six reported that an insider heard the ‘Spare’ author telling guests at the Time100 Sports Gala that the King, who has been battling an undisclosed cancer, is “doing great.”

This person also overheard Harry saying that the kids are “happy” to be back home in California, following their brief visit to the UK. In addition to this teeny tiny bit of information, Harry also reportedly gushed to a guest, “The kids are growing like weeds.”

Sometime during the Thursday event, Prince Harry was invited on stage to give a speech on Invictus Games, a competition event he founded in 2014 for wounded veterans.

“It’s truly an honor to be here tonight to celebrate the power of sport,” the speech began. “I don’t just mean the big wins and historic moments. I mean the tough losses, the sacrifices, the moments that no one ever sees.

“Sport is where you first felt the essence of teamwork and community. It shaped your discipline, your drive and your very identity. It taught you to revel in the challenges and the joy of overcoming or defining the odds.”

He further praised the British army for shaping his identity as a young man.
