Meghan Markle will be appearing on an upcoming episode of MasterChef Australia, and already, fans have gotten just enough tidbits of the episode to drown her in criticisms.
After leaving the British Monarchy and ridiculing their ways for half of a decade, the former American actress now wants to be served food fit for a “Duchess.” Yeah, royal fans were not amused either.
Fans Blast Meghan Markle For Going On Television As the “Duchess of Sussex”
As calls for Prince Harry, and in extension his wife Meghan, to lose his titles gains steam once again, Meghan is pushing onward with the royal-facing branding she’s been running with even after quitting her role as a senior royal.
Due to this decision, if the Sussex duo were ever to lose their titles, it would not only disrupt Meghan’s entire branding system, it might actually crumble her lifestyle empire, As Ever.
Already, As Ever is on a rickety branch, so who knows what push might finally send it over the edge?
Filmed in April during her much-publicized tour of the land down under, the guest-judging cooking show, MasterChef, recently released a poster to announce the episode’s upcoming release. The episode will run on Australia’s Channel 10 on July 26.
“The countdown is on! Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, joins the #MasterChefAU kitchen as a guest judge, bringing her love of food, entertaining and seasonal produce to one of the competition’s most memorable challenges,” the caption read.
The comment section of this post, needless to say, was filled with people enraged at the show for featuring the controversial Duchess on any of their episodes.
“Thanks for reminding me not to watch,” one commenter wrote, with another chiming in: “Thanks for the heads up and making it easier to avoid.”
Another fan of the televised cooking competition wrote, “I love watching Master Chef, but won’t be watching it with her.”
“I won’t be watching this garbage,” a prominent critic pushed back on X, adding, “How convenient for the episode to be released after Meghan allegedly met with King Charles & tells contestants to make a dish worthy for a duchess.”
This is also coming on the heels of a big win for Meghan Markle’s lifestyle show As Ever, which received an Emmy nomination for outstanding Lifestyle content.
The show, which premiered on Netflix last year, was cancelled after two seasons for dismal ratings and low viewership.
