It won’t be an exaggeration to say that the Royal Family would prefer disgraced former Prince Andrew out of sight and out of mind.
But Andrew, on his own part, still needs to engage in activities that will provide some fun in his now-dull world, after being stripped of his dukedom, titles and patronages.
Following a reported six-month ban from horse-riding, The Sun pictured the shamed prince riding for the first time since his February exile. For anyone familiar with Andrew’s ways, you’d no doubt agree that horse-riding is one of his favorite past-time activities. That, and per an insider, he’s “bored” out of his mind.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Pictured Riding Around Sandringham Estate in Norfolk
This week, The Sun published pictures of Andrew in a blue shirt and riding a horse across the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
The ride was said to have gone on for an hour, and marks Andrew’s return to the saddle after he was forced to leave his plush Royal Lodge for a smaller, more discreet location.
Sadly for Andrew, his horse-riding days are numbered, because the horses are reportedly on loan to him from the Palace and therefore not his to keep forever.
Speaking on how the former royal spends his days, an insider said: “He’s bored rigid so even getting his horse for a few days is better than sitting around doing nothing. He was regularly riding when he lived in Windsor as it gave him a chance to get outside.”
The ban was reportedly imposed after pictures of Andrew horse-riding at the height of his Jeffrey Epstein scandal led to people leveling massive criticisms at the Royal Family. The 66-year-old, who was arrested earlier this year, has been living at Marsh Farm after leaving Royal Lodge in Windsor.
He was first seen at a public event for the first time last month, as he watched his sister-in-law, the Duchess of Edinburgh, compete at an equestrian event.
He is currently being investigated for misconduct in a public office, after it was revealed that he sent confidential trade information to Jeffrey Epstein in an email correspondence.
