NCIS Season 24: Tony’s Back, Will Ziva Return Too?

NCIS fans have been counting down the days until the Season 24 premiere this week on CBS and the return of fan fave Michael Weatherly.

Fan fave Tony DiNozzo left the primetime series back in 2013, but made a comeback on October 6 in the Season 24 premiere.  Does that mean Ziva is coming back too?

NCIS Season 24 Returns With New Episodes On CBS

Fall TV season is upon us and there are premieres airing on every network this week.  On Tuesday October 6, CBS brought back their wildly popular NCIS shows.

The night included the Season 3 premiere of NCIS Origins at 10:00 PM, new series NCIS: New York at 9:00 PM, and the Season 24 premiere of NCIS kicked off the night.

According to NCIS spoilers, Michael Weatherly is back on the series full-time as the popular character Tony Dinozzo.  But, his other half Ziva was nowhere in sight.

It was revealed during Season 24 Episode 1 that Tony would be back working on the team and the couple will attempt to have a long distance relationship.

Is Cote De Pablo Coming Back To NCIS

Sadly, it doesn’t look like the show has any intention of bringing Ziva back this season (that don’t mean it won’t happen in the future though).

NCIS showrunner Steve Binder recently dished to TV Insider, “Ziva will be a presence in the show just because she shares a child with the director of NCIS.  So even if we don’t necessarily see her, we will hear about her and we’ll feel her, for sure. But that’s kind of where we’re leaving it for now.”

In 2025 NCIS fans were thrilled when Paramount+ introduced their latest spinoff, Tony and Ziva.  The show was shockingly canceled last December, which is why Tony returned to the original NCIS this week.
