Audrey Roloff is finding herself in the firing line, and this is happening after she shared the unconventional tricks she uses to raise her little ones, Ember, 8, Bode, 6, Radley, 4, and Mirabella, 2.
The former TLC reality TV star is no stranger to facing some form of backlash or another over some of her parenting style.
However, this time around, the heat seemed to have been too hot to take because she later deleted the video.
Audrey Roloff Makes Her Children Do Physical Exercise As Punishment
I think we can all agree that healthy and agile children are fun to have around. For Audrey, who is married to Jeremy Roloff, this sentiment couldn’t be any truer.
In a newly released video, the 34-year-old claimed that it’s a requirement for her children to do about 20-minutes of physical activity per day, since they are homeschooled.
While some of her parenting tricks, like no candy and chores, are actually quite common in most households, fans still found much to be shocked at.
“There’s two rules I adopted from my own mother: No food on furniture [and] no wet on wood. You cannot leave your wet towel from shower or bath on the ground or carpet, or you will be doing pushups,” she shared in the since-deleted Instagram video.
She continued, “If you are losing it during home school or you are being disrespectful, you do a lap around the house, rain or shine.”
As if being ordered to do ten pushups isn’t physically taxing enough, she added, “If you are 4 or older, you cannot say that you can’t do something. You can ask for help or say that something is hard. You can be frustrated, but if you say that you can’t, you have to do 10 burpees.”
Fans Slam Audrey Roloff For Meting Out “Harsh” and “Awful” Punishments On Kids
Even though Audrey seems to have backpedaled by deleting the video, a Reddit user had managed to get their hands on it.
“I’m all for setting boundaries and having rules for kids, but my goodness, these seem harsh, using exercise as punishment is awful and seems borderline abusive to me,” they shared on the now popular Reddit thread.
“Forced physical activity as punishment? Yeah, this woman’s kids are gonna have several complexes,” another chimed in.
“I don’t like my kids to say ‘I can’t do it,’ but I’d never force them to do burpees because they say it. I just correct them and say, ‘You can! Believe in yourself,’ and use positive words of encouragement. She’s insufferable,” a third fan blasted.
If you ask me, I don’t think it’s as bad as our minds are making us imagine it is. I mean, I don’t think she’s running a little military operation over there. Anyway that’s my take on it, what’s yours? Let us know in the comments.
