‘Sister Wives’ David Woolley Turns On Meri Brown: ‘You’re Acting Like Kody’

Sister Wives fans know that Meri Brown and Christine Brown Woolley share decades of family history, but their relationship has rarely been easy. Now, it looks like Christine’s coming in swinging, and the possibility of the two women kissing and making up seems unlikely now. That’s because Christine and David vented about the last episode ahead of this week’s show.

It’s All Anti-Meri

Nobody thinks the duo should become besties, but some sort of compromise and letting go of long-standing grudges would be a step forward.

Meri is trying. Remember, she and her friends Amber and Jenn discussed ways they could approach Christine. Looking back at her relationships with her former sister wives, Meri admitted she feels far more awkward around Christine than she does around Janelle.

Meri has often talked about helping raise the Brown children, but things aren’t good between her and all of them. Mykelti Brown, in particular, has made some serious allegations about the past, claiming Meri was emotionally and verbally abusive when the children were growing up.

Jenn and Amber seemed to think there was no harm in Meri trying to reconcile with Christine. Well, if that’s what you hope for, it’s unlikely because TLC fans are now labeling Christine a wannabe villain.

The Instagram Rant

On Saturday night, Christine and David sat down at a table, and on Instagram, Christine muttered about the photo that Meri Brown wants them to recreate. Well, Christine objected because she was at the bottom of the photo, and she took it very personally. She said in her caption:

I was not gong (sic) to pose in a photo that makes me look like I’m in a unit with Meri and Janelle. Being on the bottom sucks, and I felt like I was on the bottom in the family. I feel like not having a voice here puts me back on the bottom.

She also said that she feels “fuming and triggered about the last episode.” Kody Brown’s former third wife also said in her rant, “I also feel like they’re not giving me an opportunity in the episode to talk about how I feel.”

David Compares Meri To Kody

David Woolley had a lot to say about Meri Brown, and he chipped in with: “It’s really amazing that she can have her posse talk sh*t on you, and that’s bullsh*t.”

He added, “And if that’s the way it goes, then let us start having our say too.” He moaned about the relationship with the kids and talked about how they are adults now, so Meri can make her relationship directly with them.

But what seemed to get a lot of folks upset was when David said, “It sounds really familiar, like what Kody was claiming all the time.” Then he called out Meri again, saying, “If anybody’s acting like Kody… Meri, you’re acting like Kody.”

Fans React

Some Sister Wives fans were upset, and many of them wondered if Christine and David had watched the same episode as them. Some folks tthink Christine is trying too hard to become a villain for the show.

One of them wrote, “What? Did we watch the same episode? Meri and her friends never talked ‘shit’ about Christine. They were just asking questions and trying to understand both sides. Why are you taking this picture thing so personal? Relax a little, they mentioned re-creating the picture as something funny. It’s not that serious.”

Here are a few more responses from the discussion:

  • “What?! This is so weird. Christine and David you are over reacting.”
  • “I never thought I would say this… But this legitimately makes me question all of her comments and memories towards Meri in the past.”
  • “I’m confused, I didn’t think Meri’s friends were talking bad about Christine and the photo situation. I felt like they were trying to help Meri understand how Christine could be feeling. That’s all. It wasn’t a bashing session.”
  • “Okay I was with you until you posted this! You have every right to feel how you feel. From what I saw on the show, Meri was sympathetic to the fact that you feel that way even if she didn’t perceive it then. I’m not sure we watched the same show.”
  • “David is fueling her for this whole discussion. Christine the new villain.”
