Kin Shriner Shares Sad General Hospital Status Update After Serena Debuts

Kin Shriner should have been on General Hospital this week to welcome his daughter Serena Baldwin (Kelly Kruger) home to Port Charles.

But, Shriner’s character Scott Baldwin was nowhere to be seen.  In fact, he hasn’t been on the ABC soap opera in over TWO years!

Scott Baldwin’s Daughter Returns To GH

Recently it was mentioned on the soap that Scott Baldwin moved to Florida and is soaking up the sun.  Ironically, that’s where Kin Shriner lives in real life.

The GH actor took to social media this week to answer some fan questions, there was a lot of chatter on X (aka Twitter) about Serena returning.

Longtime soap fans were thrilled when news broke that General Hospital was bringing back a legacy character.

We assumed that meant Serena’s dad would be back too, but that’s not the case.  Several fans asked Shriner why he wasn’t returning this year and he had a strange response on social media.  All Shriner wrote in reference to the ABC soap is, “I don’t fit in there.”

Will Kin Shriner Return Some Day

Scott Baldwin was last seen on General Hospital in 2024.  He was never given a proper exit or even a farewell.  Baldwin’s status has been controversial on social media because he was a member of the cast since 1977.

Next year would have been Shriner’s fiftieth anniversary on the ABC soap opera.  Doesn’t he at least deserve a real exit?

In retrospect, at least we can say that the door is always open for Scott to return some time down the road.  The iconic character hasn’t been killed off, he just hasn’t been back to Port Charles in a few years.
