Kendra Duggar: Separating The Florida Allegations From Tontitown Facts

Joseph Duggar and his wife Kendra Duggar are in the news, and most Counting On fans understand the charges against the couple. However, there seems to be some confusion over who the victims are. Read on for clarity and why the rumors are wrong.

Joe & Kendra Were Both Arrested 

These days, plenty of outlets report about Joseph Duggar being arrested for alleged abuse claims against a child from Florida. However, bloggers also discuss the charges both of them face.

Notally, the charges against Kendra are not related to a victim from Florida. In fact, they both ended up charged with child endangerment, so perhaps all the charges confused people. Plus, digging into the entire family causes an overload of information.

Victim Naming & Confusion 

Info overload might explain why some people seem to think that both of them are charged with alleged sexual abuse of a child. Obviously, Counting On fans hate it when victim naming happens. But, they become more irritated when the victim outed is the wrong person.

Some folks mistakenly talk about the victim being part of the Duggar family. That doesn’t mean fans of the TLC show do it deliberately. Rather, it seems like a genuine misunderstanding of the complex case that gets examined under a microscope by various bloggers.

Of course, the commenters who try and discuss the victim end up getting slammed for outing a victim, and for outing the incorrect victim. So, let’s recap the facts if you also got confused by various bloggers who do deep dives into the family.

The Facts

Nobody knows the name of the victim from Florida. What has emerged is that Joseph Duggar allegedly engaged in intimate acts against the victim when she was nine years old. He’s been charged with the offense that allegedly happened in Florida. That explains why he was extracted there for his arraignment.

The father of the child, who is now 14, laid the charges against Joe and, allegedly, he confessed what he did. So, he is charged with “lascivious behavior against a minor” during a family trip in 2020 to Panama City Beach.

Kendra & TontiTown

While Kendra Duggar was also arrested, it’s not related to the alleged acts that happened in Florida. Instead, she was arrested for charges of “False Imprisonment” and “Four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.” These charges came in Tontitown, and Joe Duggar also faces the same ones.

The Tontitown charges arose because allegedly, bedroom doors within a residence were padlocked from the outside. Of course, that prevents a safe exit or “easy egress” in the event of an emergency. While the charges are serious, they are totally separate from the sexual offense allegations in Florida.

Obviously, keeping the facts straight is essential for any TLC fan following the story. Hopefully this clears it up for everyone. After all, even suggesting who any of the victims were seems to go against the unwritten etiquette of social media.
