Joseph Duggar, ’19 Kids and Counting Star Facing Child Molestation

Former ’19 Kids and Counting’ reality star Joseph Garrett Duggar is facing lewd and lascivious molestation charges.

Joseph Duggar’s Charges

The announcement was made by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office as the ex-reality star is awaiting extradition to the county to face charges.

The Sheriff’s Office was contacted on Wednesday, March 18, when Tontitown, Arkansas, officials reached out regarding a past sexual abuse report.

According to authorities, the victim is now 14 years of age and participated in a forensic review where she revealed a number of alleged incidents with Duggar that happened when she was 9 years old.

The victim was on vacation with her family in Panama City Beach. As per the police, the victim’s dad confronted Duggar about these claims on Tuesday, March 17.

Duggar allegedly admitted to the victim’s claims to both her father and Tontitown officials.

As per Bay County authorities, the victim was staying at a home on Danny Drive and claimed Duggar asked her to sit on his lap a number of times during her trip.

In addition, Duggar allegedly also asked her to sit with him on a couch, and a blanket was used to cover them; this is when he molested the child.

The victim also noted that this behavior continued until one day before the vacation ended, which is when Duggar apparently apologized for what he had done.

Bay County authorities did not reveal how Duggar and the victim were connected or provide a timeline for his arrival in Florida.

The Duggar Family Scandals

The Duggar family was placed in the spotlight when ‘19 and Counting’ (then called ‘17 and Counting’) premiered on TLC in 2008.

It highlighted Jim and Michelle Duggar and their slew of children, and the show ran until 2015.

The network canceled the series that year when it came out that the eldest son, Josh Duggar, had molested girls, all underage, including four sisters of his and a babysitter.

His parents admitted to knowing about some of the incidents, and the scandals continued to spiral in 2021 when a detective from Little Rock found child pornography files shared from Josh’s computer.

Josh Duggar is currently serving a 12-and-a-half-year prison sentence for downloading child sexual abuse material.
