Is Dr. Nick Marsh Leaving Grey’s Anatomy

Is Dr. Nick Marsh Leaving Grey's AnatomyScott Speedman’s new series RJ Decker is creating some buzz on the internet and is set to premiere on January 26, 2025 on ABC.

However, as the count down for the show’s premiere heats up, Grey’s Anatomy fans are beginning to wonder what this means for his character Dr. Nick Marsh?  Is Nick leaving Grey’s?  Keep reading to find out!

Grey’s Anatomy introduced Scott Speedman as Meredith Grey’s new love interest Dr. Nick Marsh in Season 20, he eventually moved to Boston with Meredith.  Despite being in a different series, Scott still appears in some episodes.

Grey’s Star Joins New Show

In ABC’s new series RJ Decker, Speedman will be playing the lead.  RJ Decker is a former con artist and inmate who was fired from the local newspaper, now he moonlights as a private investigator in South Florida.  Every episode promises a new case and new shenanigans for the PI and his band of misfits.

When the network announced last year that the Grey’s cast member had been cast in RJ Decker, they made it clear that it shouldn’t affect his time as Dr. Nick Marsh.

Deadline reported last Spring, “Speedman likely would segue to filming appearances on the upcoming 22nd season of Grey’s Anatomy after wrapping RJ Decker. At the time of the Season 21 finale in May, Deadline asked Grey’s Anatomy executive producer/showrunner Meg Marinis whether Speedman would be back next season.”

RJ Decker Premieres On ABC

Of course, RJ Decker isn’t premiering for another week and we have no idea what the new show’s ratings are going to look like.

If Scott Speedman’s new show turns in to a colossal hit, then his status at Grey’s Anatomy could change.  Until then, we can expect to still see Nick and Meredith together.
