GH Spoilers: Which Recast Disappointed Fans the Most in 2025?

General Hospital spoilers tease that a lot happened in Port Charles this year. And as normal for any soap opera, there are times when actors need to be replaced in their role.

General Hospital scored a home run when they replaced Chad Duell with Rory Gibson as Michael Corinthos.

Most fans accepted the “new” Michael instantly bur that is certainly not always the case. So let’s talk about Jack Brennan.

Jack Brennan was in charge of Pikeman!

When Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) first showed up in Port Charles, he had just taken over as head of the WSB from Frisco Jones (Jack Wagner). Viewers soon learned that Jack was also working with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) as head of the Pikeman organization. Pikeman had been targeting Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) for months. Jack also formed an immediate flirtatious relationship with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). Jack was soon arrested for his crimes and normally that would have been the end of it.

Jack Brennan And Carly Spencer Had Great Chemistry!

Fans quickly noted the chemistry between Carly and Jack, so eventually he was released from prison under mysterious circumstances. He also took over as Section Chief of the new Port Charles division of the WSB.

Circumstances continued to bring Carly and Jack together, and they were on the verge of a long-term romance when something strange happened.

Mesure was replaced by veteran soap actor Chris McKenna. It was a jarring change that many fans still haven’t accepted to this day.

What does the future hold for Jack Brennan?

Let’s start by saying that McKenna is a terrific actor. But his take on Brennan is very different that the suave mystery man with the Australian accent.

His relationship with Carly was quite different as well. Perhaps if McKenna had played a brand new character, it would be easier to accept him.

As it is, it seems as though Jack may be taking a villainous turn once again, especially since he brought Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) into the WSB. Carly will never forgive Jack for that so his storyline potential may have an expiration date.
