GH Spoilers: Is Finola Hughes’ Exit Permanent

Last week General Hospital seemingly dropped a bomb on fans and announced Finola Hughes’ exit from the soap opera by dropping Anna Devane from the closing credits. 

Eagle-eyed fans noticed the character missing on Friday’s episode, and so far nobody has confirmed nor denied the reports.

Anna Devane has been a fixture in Port Charles since 1985, it’s hard to imagine the daytime soap opera without the Police Commissioner.  Did Hughes really leave GH?

Anna’s Staying In The Hospital

After missing for months, Anna Devane was finally located at a mental hospital in Europe.  Emma Scorpio-Drake and Felicia Scorpio traveled across the pond to bring her home.  But, when they arrived, they discovered Anna wasn’t well and she barely recognized them. 

The former WSB agent seems to have finally cracked and wouldn’t stop rambling about Cesar Faison. 

Last week on General Hospital, Emma and Felicia made the heartbreaking decision to leave Anna at the hospital and return home without her.  Her granddaughter explained to Gio in tears that it was the best place for Anna right now. 

GH Spoilers: Is Finola Hughes Coming Back

If Anna isn’t coming home any time soon, then it appears the actress really has left the soap for now. 

But, this isn’t the first time that Finola Hughes has gone on hiatus and taken months off from work.  As a matter of fact, she does it almost every year like clockwork. 

It’s actually a good sign that her character is in the hospital and not dead, that means the writers have every intention of bringing her home eventually.  So far Finola Hughes hasn’t addressed her status at the soap or why she was dropped from GH’s closing credits.
