General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal that Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) will find himself fighting for his life during the week of September 28.

In the Friday, September 25 episode, Curtis discovered a group of dangerous inmates about to brutally assault his cellmate Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and bravely stepped in to help.

Curtis Ignored The Warning

Despite being instructed to remain in his cell following lunch, Curtis chose to ignore the warning and took matters into his own hands.

His decision to get involved in Sidwell’s troubles will come with serious consequences. Both Curtis and Sidwell will end up hospitalized, with Curtis admitted to the ICU in critical condition.

Medical professionals appear uncertain about Curtis’s chances of survival. According to a social media leak from August, all evidence suggests that Sidwell will emerge from the prison altercation with minimal injuries, while Curtis faces an uphill battle for his life.

Sonny Will Be Blamed

This situation is shaping up to be a major headache for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). While he technically orchestrated the entire operation, whether he anticipated it would unfold this way remains questionable.

During the September 25 episode, Sonny reached out to Vito, one of his associates, to arrange a message delivery to Sidwell inside Pentonville through an inmate he believed was loyal to him.

There’s growing suspicion that this inmate may have actually switched sides and is now working for Sidwell, setting Sonny up for a fall.

After the inmate and his crew attacked Curtis and Sidwell, he made a point of announcing that the assault was a direct message from Sonny.

Sidwell Was Cocky As Always

Moreover, Sidwell displayed remarkable confidence and swagger before the prison attack unfolded; it’s almost as though he anticipated it happening-perhaps Sidwell discovered Sonny’s scheme and decided to flip the script.

With Sidwell hospitalized, he gains both an escape route and the chance to incriminate his rival; a perfect scenario for him.  Adding Curtis to this mix only complicates matters further.

Curtis was incarcerated for an assault conviction; however, he’s hardly a threat to public safety. Beyond this recent offense, Curtis is genuinely a law-abiding, respectable member of the community.

Curtis Had A Strategy But It Seems To Have Backfired

Upon arriving at Pentonville, Curtis devised a straightforward strategy: maintain a low profile, demonstrate exemplary conduct, and secure parole within two years to reclaim his former life.

After all, he cherishes Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) and his children, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Desmond Ashford (Yirah Aviah Lafond), whose company he’s missing out on.

Now his loved ones find themselves grappling with anxiety about Curtis’s survival and the potential consequences he might encounter should he return to incarceration
