1) Trina’s Contempt
First off, he’s choosing his marginal friend Trina Robinson (Tatyana Ali) over his family and that’s despicable. Last week he had the nerve to move out of Sonny’s house in part because he thinks Sonny had Trina’s dad beat up in Pentonville.
Sonny told him point blank that he had nothing to do with it yet Gio doesn’t believe him; he’s just as bad as his silly dad Dante Falconeri ( Dominic Zamprogna).
2) Dante’s Delusion
Speaking of Dante, he also blames Sonny for the beatdown of Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) despite Sonny denying any involvement. Dante is smarter than this, but even sadder is the fact that he’s influenced Gio to turn on Sonny.
Then again, maybe Dante has never gotten over the fact that Sonny shot him in the chest point blank back in the day?
If Sonny could shoot his own son how farfetched is it that he would have a couple of prisoners beaten? Sonny is a violent man, but in this case he is innocent of what he’s being accused of.
3) The Quirky Q’s
The Quartermaines are another voice in Gio’s ear telling him to shun Sonny. They have zero proof of Sonny’s wrongdoing (because there is none) but that hasn’t stopped them slandering Sonny to Gio. Why can’t he think for himself?
4) Emma’s Influence
Part of the reason Gio isn’t thinking for himself is because of his girlfriend Emma Scorpio Drake’s (Braedyn Bruner) influence. Emma has a trigger temper and holds grudges and she’s doing so with Sonny, causing Gio to follow the leader.
Emma should be ashamed of herself given how much Sonny has done to help her mom Robin Scorpio Drake (Kimberley McCullough).
Sonny went out on a limb for Robin when she was about Emma’s age and Robin worships him. Why can’t Emma believe that Sonny is telling the truth?
Tell us GH fans, do you think Gio will regret turning on Sonny?
