General Hospital spoilers and updates for Friday, July 9 tease Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) questions Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring).
Plus, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) considers his defense, and Elizabeth Baldwin’s (Rebecca Herbst) suspicious!
Key Takeaways
- Chase questions Lucy as the investigation into Willow’s legal troubles intensifies.
- Elizabeth becomes suspicious after discovering information that doesn’t add up.
- Curtis hires Martin Grey in hopes of avoiding prison on the assault charges.
- Sidwell lashes out after believing someone close to him betrayed his trust.
- Sonny and Justine confront the uncertain future of their secret relationship.
Chase Questions Lucy
At the Metro Court Pool, Chase has questions for Lucy-he tells her “I wanted to ask you about the statement that you gave about Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen).”
Lucy actually perjured herself-or would have been, had she been in court.
She went to the Port Charles Police Department and told Detective Joe Fitzgerald (Jonathan Bennett) she saw Willow on Route 91 in the area of Curtis and Jordan Ashford’s (Tanisha Harper) wreck.
Despite Brook Lynn Quartermaine-Chase (Amanda Setton) and Lucy’s attempts to dissuade Chase’s hero fixation regarding Willow, it looks like it’s not working!
Curtis Considers His Defense
In the meantime, Curtis considers his defense for his assault charges stemming from his attack on Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) as he talks to Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight).
The attorney Curtis was using couldn’t do any better than get him a plea bargain with two years prison time-maybe out in eight months; obviously, it looks like Martin thinks he can do better.
Curtis asks Martin, “Are you the lawyer who can do that?”
Laura Collins (Genie Francis) gave Martin the lead, since he’s fresh back in town and needs a case to work on.
So the question indeed is, is Martin the lawyer who can get Curtis off of his assault charges, proving undue provocation by Isaiah?
Willow Updates Nina
Elsewhere, Willow updates her mother, but Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) looks crestfallen when Willow tells her what she should do, and it involves Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna)!
Willow will suffer a setback, and that might have a great deal to do with how Nina will answer her question.
Willow tells Nina “The best way to do that is with Chief Brennan,” but Nina’s face shows there’s a major problem.
Could the problem be that the solution to Willow and Nina’s problems is in that black box that disappeared with Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) that Z (John Oliver) was trying to find?
The secret location of that box may well have died with the duplicitous double agent director!
Elizabeth Is Suspicious
In the meantime, Elizabeth is with Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) who is still coffee-ing up after his hangover, as Elizabeth appears to be looking at a device, possibly a small laptop or tablet.
Apparently someone has sent her a message, and she becomes suspicious-this message could be about Brennan, or it’s also possible it’s about Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).
She tells Lucas that the person communicates that “he walked down on his own” and Elizabeth doesn’t understand how that can be true!
Jack had been there at the hospital fully functional after supposedly having a stroke and being locked in like Drew-he was there to talk to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy).
In either case, it doesn’t make sense to Elizabeth how someone can be locked-in and recover so quickly; SOD summer spoilers revealed Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) regains his mobility!
Sidwell Feels Betrayed
In the meantime, jailed Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) feels betrayed, as he has a visitor.
Chances are, he’s talking to Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) who called the ambulance after Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) knocked out Detective Joe Fitzgerald (Jonathan Bennett).
Sidwell’s not happy, whoever he’s talking to, asking how could they sell him out like that-it’s questionable that Ava Jerome (Maura West) would visit.
She already told him that she stopped supporting him when he tried to kill her nephew!
Sonny And Turner Discuss Their Relationship
It seems like Acting District Attorney Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) is having second thoughts about her secret romance with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
They’re sitting together at a table, as he asks her if she wants this to be the last time they see each other.
Most likely, deep down she doesn’t, but having been held hostage by Sidwell really had an effect on her, as she’d earlier discussed with Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos).
It changes one’s perspective when they realize someone else holds their life in their hands!
