GH Spoilers: A Political Plot Twist For Willow Might Be the Best Thing For Her

General Hospital Spoilers: A Political Plot Twist For Willow Might Be the Best Thing For HerGeneral Hospital spoilers reveal Willow Tait Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) is potentially heading to Washington, DC soon, and heads will turn if that woman actually makes it into a cabinet position.

Taking over for Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) in Congress is an esteemed role not to be taken lightly.

Willow seemed more than overwhelmed by the very proposition of it when Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) laid it at her feet, but Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) injected some passion into the scenario when painting a narrative for Willow that empowered and emboldened her.

At first, many fans erupted with complaints that Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) would be much better-suited for the job, and that’s probably true. But Willow not being well-suited for the job doesn’t mean the job wouldn’t suit Willow.

Healthy Competition Rears Its Head

Alexis has no idea that Willow is even considering this life change right now. It’s the furthest thing from her mind, and she probably thinks it would be the last thing that Willow would ever want.

After all, she only just got her children back, and she’s just left her position at GH to tend to Drew’s needs full-time as his caregiver.

Privately, she also knows she won’t be able to entrust a care facility to deal with him because he might figure out a way to spill the beans on her. So, expect this to be a difficult decision rife with anxiety for Willow.

Willow Needs a Purpose

While most women find that motherhood is plentiful, it seems that isn’t enough for Willow. Of course, that’s why she went out into the workforce agan.

First, she was a school teacher. She used that career as a means of escaping life in a cult, and didn’t want to stick with it after the truth about her past came out.

She segued into nursing, but flippantly gave it up and later returned as though she missed it terribly.

It doesn’t seem like Willow really knows what she wants, but a powerful position like being a sitting Congresswoman could instill a real sense of responsibility in her that we haven’t seen before. It could help reform her.

There’s a Chance This Gets Worse

Willow has never really been one to get drunk with power. Sure, she’s chasing it, but it’s out of desperation because she’s never really felt like she had real control over her life.

Going to the nation’s capital might be thrilling for her, and it would be gravy to know she took the position from Drew.

But there’s also a chance that the kind of influence she develops in taking over for him and working with people like Sidwell could pull her into a much darker web of Port Charles politics than she is prepared for. What do you think?

If Willow beats Alexis for this position, will it do her some good, or leave her regretting it altogether? Keep checking back for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
