Apparently, it’s been on a lot of people’s minds. Clearly, we are talking about the General Hospital rumor suggesting Maurice Bernard, who plays Sonny Corinthos on the hit ABC soap, might have more of a say about who stays and who goes than you’d think.
Keep reading below for all the details you need to know.
Does Maurice Benard Have This Kind Of Control?
There’s speculation suggesting that Maurice Bernard might have more of a say about casting behind the scenes than some people might think.
And while this is just an internet rumor, some General Hospital fans think a lot of actors resign from their roles or they don’t sign their contracts again or had some of their scenes cut simply because Maurice supposedly, “finds problem with actors who appear to be gaining equal or more popularity as his character,” according to one source close to the situation. But is this even true?
Clearly, many GH fans certainly did have a lot to say about the matter on social media.
Some even commented with, “He has not had any real bts power in at least a decade. Neither does Steve Burton. Those days are long gone. Did they used to have some influence on casting and their stories? Yes. So did Tony Geary, Genie Francis, and others.”
What’s Really Going On With Maurice Bernard Behind The Scenes?
Another critic wrote, “Maurice admits in his book he has been difficult on costars, including Tamara Braun, and it’s pretty common knowledge he sees himself as an acting mentor even if people did not ask him for his advice. Especially with the younger actors.”
And then there was this comment as well: “There’s drama BTS on every tv show/movie set. It’s unavoidable with that large of a group of people working together. I’ve seen so many snarky comments about how MB wouldn’t allow certain actors to come back. I seriously doubt it’s his decision.”
So far the producers of the soap have not made any comments about the matter, although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said. Watch this space as we have a feeling there is so much more to come.
