GH Anthony Geary Tribute Montage – Airdate Set

General Hospital spoilers suggest that the ABC soap’s executive, Nathan Varni, recently posted on social media, promising a meaningful montage for the late Anthony Geary and his incredible impact on the show, playing the iconic Luke Spencer. Now it seems the daytime drama has an airdate set for the tribute.

Anthony Geary’s Legacy

At the age of 78, Geary passed on December 14, after complications from surgery. On January 1, 2026, General Hospital aired the actor’s final “goodbye” episode from 2015 when Luke officially left town.

Unfortunately, many GH fans missed the show due to local pre-emptions because of the holiday. A lot of viewers also thought there should be more to celebrate the life and legacy of the character and actor, and Varni addressed this in a post on X, the first week of January.

He Varni’s X post read, “Our team is working on a loving montage to be included later in the month. Keep an eye out. RIP Tony Geary. 💔” As per Soaps.com, Geary’s tribute montage will air on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

What GH Fans Can Expect

General Hospital fans can expect a beautiful tribute to Luke Spencer, highlighting his legendary moments, both the highs, lows, and those unforgettable times.

Luke had such charm and charisma – like no one else in Port Charles – so GH viewers should expect those snappy one-liners that Luke was famous for. His iconic wedding to Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) will also likely be showcased.

Geary played Luke Spencer from 1978 to 2015 (on and off) and won a record-breaking eight Daytime Emmy’s during his work in the role.

While Geary did return for a cameo in 2017, when Luke came back for Tracy Quartermaine’s (Jane Elliot) send off, he had pretty much retired after 2015.

The character Luke ended up passing away in 2022 from a cable car accident, at the hands of Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy).
