General Hospital: Anthony Geary’s Husband Shares Heartbreaking Tribute

General Hospital fans are still mourning the loss of fan fave Anthony Geary.  The soap star passed away last year at the age of 78 years old.

Geary passed away unexpectedly in the Netherlands (where he lived) after complications from surgery.  This week the Luke Spencer portrayer would have celebrated his 79th birthday.

Anthony Geary made his General Hospital debut in 1978 and became one half of super couple Luke & Laura.

Luke Spencer’s romance with Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) spanned decades and helped him become a household name.

He also appeared in both of the soap’s spinoffs, Port Charles and The Night Shift.  Geary left General Hospital for good in 2015, however he did return for a brief visit in 2017.

During his tenure on General Hospital, Anthony Geary took home a whopping eight Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor.

He also received half a dozen other nominations in that category over the years that he didn’t win.

GH Star’s Husband Pays Tribute

The General Hospital star passed away on December 14 2025, and this week he would have celebrated his 79th birthday.

Just five months after his passing, the late actor’s husband took to social media to pay his respects on the actor’s birthday.

The late Tony Geary’s husband Claudio Gama wrote on social media, “Happy birthday my Love.  Me and Max miss you every day… you are always in our thoughts… we miss your sweet smile, your beautiful voice and the loving hugs and cuddles you gave us everyday… rest in peace, my Love.”

General Hospital fans flocked to the comments to share their support Claudio while he continues mourning the loss of his husband.
