Penny’s Preggers!

Next week in EastEnders, new storylines begin with a surprise pregnancy for Penny and Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota)-they’ve grown closer since New Year’s Eve, and she is conflicted about her pregnancy.

Is this the baby that Jack (Scott Maslen) will care for in 11 months-it’s just another Sunday in Albert Square, where residents gather for a roast dinner.

At the Branning home, Jack finds a pregnancy test and, with partner Denise Fox (Diane Parish), tries to figure out who it belongs to, thinking it’s Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) who is pregnant again.

Lily is angry and denies it, forcing Penny to confess it’s hers. Penny takes the test but lies to her family, saying it’s negative.

Penny Finally Confesses It’s Hers

Jack is relieved he won’t be a grandfather again-but when he learns Penny is actually pregnant, she scolds him for his attitude. Penny talks to Lauren about her worries regarding motherhood and the big changes it would bring.

Jack realizes he has upset her and tries to apologize but ends up offending her again. Meanwhile, Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) overhears Penny’s worries and tells Vinny about her pregnancy scare.

Vinny Hurries Over To Support Penny, And They Go To The Doctor

He hurries over to meet her, and subsequently accompanies her to the surgery to talk about her options with the doctor.

Penny feels annoyed when the GP excludes her from the discussion, detailing the support they might receive if she chooses to keep the baby.

This child is probably Ethan- the intriguing new member of the Branning family that we were introduced to in last month’s flash-forward episode.

He appeared to be under Jack’s supervision, but why is that? What happens to Penny during that period- there are so many questions, and so few answers!

Callum Is Conflicted Over A Letter From Ben

Callum is feeling conflicted about a letter he received from his estranged husband, Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), which reveals to Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) that he is finally prepared to walk away.

Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) believes that her son Johnny’s (Charlie Suff) heart may soon be shattered, and she soon encounters Tim Walton (Tom Ratcliffe), leading to an argument about Callum.

The cunning businessman discloses that he has arranged a test to determine if he is truly the man they believe him to be.

After receiving some sage advice from Kathy and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) about honoring Ben’s wishes for their daughter Lexi Pearce’s (Isabella Brown) benefit, the group sets off for their destination.

Callum And Johnny Are Blackmailed

But then they get there to discover that Tim has orchestrated a setup. Johnny is incredulous that Callum would adhere to ‘Ben’s’ wishes in the first place, and tensions escalate when Tim arrives with incriminating footage that implicates Callum.

With their relationship in ruins, Johnny thinks he might be able to mend things with Tim. He is appalled when his old friend suggests that the only way out of this mess is for them to sleep together. What choices will Callum and Johnny make, will they  give in to the blackmail?

Ravi Tries To Get Back On Track

After a chaotic few weeks, Ravi is resolute about returning to a more stable path and decides to apply for a position at the car dealership. He gets ready for an interview with Lauren Beale (Jacqueline Jossa), but is caught off guard when her father Max Branning (Jake Wood) shows up for the discussion instead.

The situation deteriorates further when his girlfriend Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) unintentionally hurts his pride, prompting him to look for other job opportunities.

Mark Fowler (Stephen Aaron-Sipple) offers Ravi some urgent work, but these plans quickly take a backseat when his son Nugget experiences another seizure.

Ravi Spirals When The Pharmacy’s Out Of Nugget’s Epilepsy Meds

Ravi rushes to the pharmacy to pick up his medication, but he soon descends into panic when an issue arises with the prescription.

Feeling as though he has let Nugget down once more, a stressed Ravi locks the door and insists that no one is leaving until he receives the medication.

Inside, Nugget, Denise Fox (Diane Parish), and Bea Pollard (Ronni Ancona) are trapped with the pharmacist, growing increasingly worried about his state of mind.

Will Ravi be alright-will someone be able to calm him down? Perhaps the prescription can be transferred to a pharmacy that has stock?

Anthony Trueman Returns From The Dead-Sort Of!

Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) makes a return from the afterlife- well, sort of; despite passing away during Christmas, Anthony returns to Walford next week; this time as an AI chatbot!

Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) notices how much Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) is having a tough time and gets inspired by Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) to help him cope with his sorrow.

He secretly develops an artificial intelligence version of the deceased GP, which he later reveals to Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) and Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter). When Patrick sees his son on the screen, he is initially taken aback and rushes off.

However, later that evening, he comes back and requests to talk to the AI representation of his son-Yolande expresses her disapproval of the situation.
