DWTS Shocker: Witney Carson Slams Guillermo’s Brutal Scores – Judges Were “Mean”

The Dancing With The Stars Season 35 premiere was one for the books.  One of the most memorable performances was of course Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson’s cha-cha.  Fans were impressed with the late night star’s “moves,” but the judges didn’t feel the same.

Week 1 of DWTS 35 is in the books, and Jimmy Kimmel star Guillermo Rodriguez narrowly escape elimination.  Lucky for him, reality TV star Connor Leavitt (The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives) debuted with two left feet.

Guillermo And Witney Don’t Impress The Judges

Guillermo and his pro partner Witney Carson (two time mirror ball winner) took the stage and performed a Cha-Cha to “Mr Big Stuff.”

The dance was hilarious, but not exactly a Cha-Cha according to the judges.  Actually, the late night TV star earned one of the LOWEST Dancing With The Stars scores of all time.

After the shockingly low scores from Bruno Tonioli and the rest of the judges, Witney Carson wanted to clear the air before she and her partner took the stage for week two.

Carson appeared on the latest episode of the Dancing With The Stars podcast and had some thoughts about Guillermo’s scores.

The pro dished, “I thought that was a little uncalled for. I mean, he was moving, he was actually hitting the lines and trying to cha-cha. I felt like the threes were a little bit mean.”

Guillermo’s partner was optimistic about his future on the show though and added, “But the comments were great.  We expected the technique to be worked on. That always can improve.”
