DOOL Spoilers: Brady Black -The New Pawn in Stefano’s High-Stakes Game?

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal a surprise involving a missing pawn from Stefano DiMera’s (Joseph Mascolo) chess set, which he left to Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and John Black (Drake Hogestyn) in his will.

Now, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), Chad DiMera (Connor Floyd), and Belle Black (Martha Madison) are curious about the chess set and its significance.

The Missing Pawn, And What It Represents

We’ll discuss the missing pawn and Chad and Belle’s theory about another pawn, possibly Brady or someone else, who might take his father’s place. Initially, it was thought that the missing pawn referred to John Black, the original pawn.

However, Chad noted that the chess set was an inheritance for both Marlena and John. He also mentioned that Stefano wouldn’t have known John wouldn’t be there to receive the gift.

Thus, Chad and Belle considered whether the mystery was intended for John rather than being about him.

Is There A New Pawn?

This brings us to the question: is there a pawn now compared to one in the past? Marlena recently allowed her daughter Belle and Chad to look into the mysterious chessboard that Stefano gave to his queen and his original pawn, John.

However, Marlena made it clear she didn’t want to know what they find. As they thought it over, Chad and Belle concluded that the missing piece isn’t just a symbol of John Black’s past as Stefano’s brainwashed soldier.

They believe the pawn might refer to someone entirely different; perhaps a new person-there are 16 pawns on the board-eight on each side, eight of each color, not just one pawn.

Perhaps Stefano Had Or There Still Are Other Pawns

This implies that Stefano may have had, or still possesses, another operative or possibly a victim that he’s manipulating as a pawn in this disturbing game he’s orchestrating from beyond the grave.

Recently, we’ve also received additional clues with EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews).

They were engaging in a frustrating chess match this week in the living room, right beneath Stefano’s portrait, while discussing his will and inheritances.

In this week’s events, Theo and Chad are examining the chess set together at Brady Pub when a key unexpectedly falls into Theo’s hand-this key might be the first clue to identify the pawn.

We wonder if it could be Belle’s brother, John’s son, Brady Black, who may unknowingly be part of Stefano’s final game with Marlena and John Black’s family.

The Phoenix Had A Passion For Chess

It’s well known that The Phoenix had a passion for chess, as well as a knack for manipulation, and the absence of the pawn is certainly intentional. This missing piece serves as a riddle or perhaps a hidden message waiting to be deciphered.

Remember when Marlena initially turned down the inheritance? The pawn and queen were prominently displayed, distinct from the rest of the chess set.

This absence of a pawn might indicate that an undiscovered player has already been in the game, unbeknownst to John and Marlena, or it could suggest that a new pawn is about to make its appearance.

Stefano Couldn’t Have Known John Would Die

However, Stefano couldn’t have predicted the tragic and premature death that John would face. Therefore, it’s entirely possible that another pawn exists out there.

Perhaps someone whom Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) has brainwashed for Stefano, similar to what was done to John Black in the past. This enigmatic pawn could be hiding in plain sight in Salem, completely unaware of their role.

They might essentially be a sleeper agent, waiting for the right moment to be activated. This Could All Be Connected To The Coin Marlena Found By John’s Grave

This might all connect back to the coin found at John’s grave by Marlena, if you recall. The next clue is the key that Chad and Theo found while messing with the chess set this week.

Brady Black, being the son of John and Isabella Kiriakis Black, has strong family ties to Stefano’s rival; therefore, Brady seems like a likely choice to be the new pawn.

Additionally, his close relationship with Marlena, his bonus mom, would likely interest the late Phoenix, something Stefano was aware of. So, Brady could be set up to become the new pawn.

Brady Has Ties To Stefano Through Kristen And Rachel

He also has ties to Stefano through Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) and their daughter Rachel Black (Lorelei Olivia Mote).

However, if Days of Our Lives wanted to create a twist, having Rachel as the pawn would be quite surprising. But if we consider an adult, Brady could easily be the next generation pawn.

John was once Stefano’s pawn, but he also did some work for Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston), who became John Black’s father-in-law when he married Isabella.

Of course, Stefano and Victor were sworn enemies, both cut from the same villainous cloth as we’ve seen.

Brady Is Already Following In His Father’s Footsteps

Additionally, Brady managed his father’s business, Basic Black, before partnering with Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) at Black Patch. This shows that Brady is already following in his father John’s footsteps.

Furthermore, Brady and Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) are about to look into DiMera Enterprises Pharmaceuticals’ involvement in the deaths of Destiny Rowland (Gloria Bartholomew) and her sister Clea (uncast).

This situation puts Brady in conflict with EJ, Stefano’s wicked son. However, it’s uncertain if Stefano’s heir truly understands this new game of pawns.

Rolf Is Likely Deeply Involved With The New Pawn

On the other hand, Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) is likely deeply involved with Stefano’s new pawn.

If it’s not Brady, it could be the mischievous Rachel, who appeared quite taken with the Arabian Nights book-this book was one of Stefano’s tools when he played mind games with Marlena.

And then there’s Tate Black (Leo Howard); he might be an unsuspecting sleeper agent, especially since he’s been acquiring hand-to-hand combat skills.

Brady’s son with Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) was manipulated in the womb by Kristen and Dr. Rolf.

Remember, Tate was taken from Theresa’s womb and implanted in Kristen’s, who then raised him as a baby.

Stefano Wasn’t Above Interfering With His Own Relatives

Kristen named Tate after herself, calling him Christopher with a K, just like Kristen; this means Tate could easily become a new pawn in this storyline.

However, he’s a long shot since the actors have been let go and are involved in another plot right now-still, it’s supposed to connect to the DiMera family. Stefano was known for interfering with his own relatives, which opens up other possibilities.

This includes EJ, Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis), the not-so-dead Peter Blake (Dan Gauthier), and the not-so-dead Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash).

Even Theo could be used as a pawn in whatever endgame Stefano is orchestrating from beyond the grave-but it seems unlikely that Stefano would target Theo.

Someone Is Behind A Computer Watching The Game

From the big summer promo, we know someone is behind a computer, watching them play this game. This person is manipulating events, dropping hints and clues. It would be interesting if that person turned out to be Brady Black, unaware of his influence.

However, since Rolf sneaked in and gave Peter that lethal shot, Stefano’s adopted son might be kept in a pod, waiting for his part in this new game-we’ll just have to wait and see.
