The dance routines for Tuesday’s “Viral Hits Night” on Dancing with the Stars have been revealed, and two couples bring stories that viewers should keep an eye on. Read on to find out why.
Maura and Mark
Maura Higgins seemed very controversial, and that could complicate the show going forward. Remember that Higgins and pro dancer Mark Ballas scored 21/30 on their premiere foxtrot, tying for the highest score on night two.
Bruno Tonioli called it “smooth as silk and ready for the kill,” while Carrie Ann Inaba said she was nearly unable to find the words to describe it.
Fixed to Win?
Questions are being asked because Maura Higgins and Ballas both appeared on The Traitors season 4. According to the Daily Mail, their pairing started accusations that the show is “fixed.”
The outlet noted, “After her pairing with Mark was revealed and the star being seen rubbing shoulders with judge Bruno Tonioli on a night out, her co-stars are allegedly not best pleased.”
The article also said, she “shared photos that showed Ballas dragging her across the floor, but they also noted that she “brushed aside the drama” while getting ready for the next round.”
Another report arrived via The Sun: “She’s even made sure to get close to judge Bruno Tonioli and wasted no time posing arm-in-arm with him after a night out,” and “It’s not gone unnoticed within the cast…”
Extra Eyeballs
The fix allegations could put extra scrutiny on Maura Higgins after her surprisingly strong opening performance. Some folks might question how she suddenly became an excellent dancer, because even she called Ballas “a miracle worker,” and admitted, “It’s bad. Like, it’s bad, I’m not even joking.”
Mark Ballas also described her early dancing effort as having “very praying mantis vibes.” So, Tuesday will be a big test for the duo as they perform a cha-cha.
Fans know that a cha-cha brings demands, especially with footwork, and if they get it right, then a lot of people might have to swallow their talk about a fixed winner. But if they fail, then you can bet that everything they do will get a lot of scrutiny from Dancing with the Stars fans.
Emma Has An Injury
Another person worth watching is Emma Slater, who is dancing with an injury. On September 17, Emma Slater took to social media and posted a detached toenail, writing, “Don’t watch if you squirm easy!!!!”
She explained she’d peeled it off because it was “flip-flopping like a cat door.” She also added, “It’s not cute.”

Her foxtrot with her partner Jackson Olson, will be to Gracie Abrams’ “That’s So True.” The complication is that Slater is dating Alan Bersten, who competes the same night with Giada De Laurentiis.
The Rest of the Dances
Michael Fairman TV listed the full lineup for the upcoming episode. Taylor Hanson and Britt Stewart do a cha-cha to DNCE’s “Cake by the Ocean.”
Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson take a Viennese waltz to “Iris.”
Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson attempt a paso doble to Rihanna’s “Where Have You Been.” Notably, Carson is dancing while pregnant with her third child.
Finally, Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy will perform a jive to KATSEYE’s “Animal.”
