Dancing With The Stars: Emma Slater Talks Hiding Alan Bersten Romance

Dancing With The Stars couple Emma Slater and Alan Bersten are out and proud with their relationship now, but that wasn’t always the case.

In fact, they hid their relationship from the public for MONTHS before they finally confirmed they were dating.

Recently, Dancing With The Stars pro Emma Slater sat down and dished about her romance with Alan Bersten on “Chicks With An Office” Podcast.  She also brought co-star and boyfriend Alan along with her for moral support.

Emma Slater’s Divorce

Longtime DWTS fans know that this isn’t Emma Slater’s first romance with another pro dancer.  Slater was originally married to Sasha Farber for a couple of years.

Emma and Sasha announced their divorce in 2023 and cited irreconcilable differences.  Despite pulling the plug on their marriage, the former couple are still on good terms and close on the reality TV show set.

After Emma Slater’s divorce, there were a lot of rumors floating around in tabloids and on social media about her personal life.

At one point, the Dancing With The Stars pro had to shut down rumors that she was hooking up with her partner Mauricio Umansky.

Why Did Emma Slater Hide Alan Bersten

Emma confessed on the podcast that she was scared she would be judged for moving on so quickly after her divorce and with ANOTHER one of her co-stars.

The fan fave explained, “I feel like I was living in fear for quite a bit, and I just hated feeling like people were just judging me all the time.  And I didn’t realize what an unbearable weight that was.”

Alan Bersten chimed in and explained it was his idea to hard-lauch their romance last year.  After months of rumors, the couple confirmed they were an item in April 2025 when they shared a kiss on stage.
