Dancing With The Stars fans were shocked and excited to see such a huge name like Julia Stiles on Season 35 of the dance competition show.
This fall Stiles will be paired up with pro dancer Ezra Sosa. But, some fans are unhappy with ABC’s casting choice because they think that Stiles’ dance background gives her an unfair advantage. Keep reading for all of the details!
Julia Stiles On Dancing With The Stars
Julia Stiles mad her big screen debut in iconic 1999 movie, 10 Things I Hate About You.
The talented actress went on to appear in several movies in the early 2000’s including Hamlet, The Bourne Identity, Mona Lisa Smile, and The Omen. However, her biggest role was in the hit film Save The Last Dance.
Julia’s character Sara Johnson was an aspiring ballerina in high-school and trying to get in to Julliard. After a series of misfortunate events, she moved to a low-income apartment with her father and began attending an urban inner-city high-school.
Dancing With The Stars Team Sets Record Straight
It’s understandable that viewers think Julia Stiles will have an unfair advantage on Dancing With The Stars.
Julia and her new partner Ezra took to TikTok to clear up the misunderstanding. We don’t have to worry about Julia and Ezra stealing the show, apparently those Save The Last Dance scenes were FAKE.
In the new video, Julia reveals that she actually wasn’t the one dancing in Save The Last Dance. Her character Sara Johnson actually had a body double who handled all of the complex moves.
Stiles recalls having to “catch up to the level that Sara — or, at least, look like I could catch up to — I could be at the level that Sara was supposed to be at.”
