Big Brother 28 Yash Patel Slams Drew Campbell’s ‘Weaselly’ Gameplay

Over the weekend, news arrived about the exit of Big Brother Season 28 contestant Yash Patel. He vented about Drew Campbell after leaving the house. Read on for more about it.

‘Hard Feelings’

Patel seemed irritated by Campbell, and he talked with Page Six about it on September 19. He said that he has “hard feelings” about Drew’s strategy, claiming his gameplay was “weaselly,” and admitted he never “fully trusted him.”

The outlet reminded readers that “Patel and his ally, Taylor Brown, begged Campbell to keep him in the game, but the surgical assistant ultimately sided with Devins and voted to keep Valadares over Patel.”

Patel also noted that he’s not holding a permanent grudge against Campbell for playing it the way he did.

A Double Eviction Is Better?

In an interview with People, Patel seemed less focused on Campbell, telling the outlet, “I actually think leaving on a double eviction is kind of better than leaving on a normal eviction.”

He also talked about the fact that “you don’t have that entire week where you think you might go home, and you have to deal with all of the headache that comes with that.”

So, he concluded that “leaving on a double is almost more fun, more memorable, and kind of easier.”

Patel’s Run on the Show

Yash Patel, 24, a financial analyst from Monroe Township, New Jersey, wasn’t completely unknown to fans of Big Brother because people also saw him on Fox’s The Quiz with Balls.

On the CBS show, viewers got to know Yash a lot more, and he came across as physically strong, while also playing the competition well enough to win two Head of Household titles in weeks six and ten. He also picked up three Power of Veto wins, per TheThings.

A Costly Deal

One of the biggest stumbling blocks came when he accepted a $5,000 bribe from fellow houseguest Dee Valladares. But the $5,000 came at a cost. Yash couldn’t nominate Dee, Rick Devens, or Angela Murray.

They kept him safe that week, but once he took the cash, the deal was binding under the game rules.

Yash had to enter the Diary Room for a full debrief to sign off on the deal. He had initially turned down Dee’s bribe during his Week 6 HOH and nominated her anyway.

But after Devens used the Diamond Power of Veto to save Dee and Yash’s ally Kamu Kirk was evicted instead, things changed. When the bribe was offered again, Yash took the cash so he could survive.

Fans Love the Intrigue

The double eviction ended his run because the houseguests sent him home in a 2-1 vote, leaving him in sixth place and sending him to the jury house.

Exit interviews with other outlets like Parade, Us Weekly, and TV Insider gave more background to his sudden departure. But with Page Six, his main focus remained on Drew backstabbing him.

For fans, it never stops being intriguing when someone takes the money, only to later realize they sold themselves down the river.
