Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that at least four of the younger actors have been let go from the show recently. Carson Boatman (Johnny Dimera), Raven Bowens (Chanel Dupree), Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) and Leo Howard (Tate Black) have all found themselves on the chopping block. Are writers making a huge mistake by getting rid of the younger generation?
Soap Operas Survive On Generations
Anyone who watches soap opera know that most viewers got their start by watching with older family members. Days of Our Lives viewers have been around for over 60 years.
However, in order to bring in new fans, there has to also be younger couples on the show. Days writers have recently chosen to get rid of two such couple, or at least the actors who play them.
How do the writers expect to keep new viewers coming if they have no younger couples around to keep them interested?
What are the executives at Peacock thinking when it comes to the longevity of this iconic soap if there is no one on the show to keep them interested in it? Who will replace these two couples on the show?
Fans Have Enjoyed The Younger Couples
Johnny and Chanel have been a fan favorite for some time. Now, suddenly, they are about to be gone. Fans what to see what happens with these two and their children.
Fans certainly don’t want Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd) to win over them when it comes to her baby. Sophia never wanted that child and frankly, he deserves better than a mother who has lied about his entire existence.
Sophia is far from mother material and she has proven that from day one. Sophia didn’t want to keep this baby, she used it to control Tate.
All the while, fans knew that Aaron Greene (Louis Tomeo) was the more likely father candidate. Sophia is purely evil and there is no redemption for her. Why are fans forced to deal with her instead of their favorites?
Newer Fans Don’t Connect With Some Characters
Newer fans have issues connecting with some character because they are older and fans cannot get invested in them. However, fans who are invested in the younger characters do not want to see them go.
What exactly are the writers trying to do when it comes to these characters? How are fans supposed to invest if the writers give them no one to find interest in?
Are the writers making it impossible to keep Days of Our Lives going by cutting out character for younger people to invest in?
Do the writers no realize that the families need these younger characters around to continue to grow and bring in more fans? Will these characters be recast or are they just being written off?
