There are also some important casting changes to note over the next five days and beyond, so read on below to get all the scoop.

Summer Break!?

The Young and the Restless fans were shocked when actress Allison Lanier announced her exit from the soap and the role of Summer Newman earlier this week.

She hopped on the social media platform X and informed her followers that her final appearance on the CBS daytime drama would be Friday, May 2.

Summer left town for Milan during the episode, after her two top employees, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), resigned from Marchetti. The character was in search of someone to replace these roles within her company.

As per Soap Opera Digest (SOD), there are no immediate plans to recast Summer, so will she be back anytime soon or at some point? That’s hard to say.

Chloe Mitchell Returns

In other Marchetti news, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will be back on the canvas during the week of May 5-9. Will she get promoted within the company in light of the organization’s staffing news?

Then again, she might be on the canvas to listen to either one of her friends, Sally or Chelsea, vent about their new jobs.

Plus, Y&R fans will see more of Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), but unfortunately, it sounds like the character will experience some marital drama.

Her wife, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), returned from a business trip during the week of April 28-May 2, acting strangely.

On the Tuesday, May 6 episode, Tessa will worry about Mariah’s odd behavior. What secret is Mariah hiding?
