Varya Malina, formerly on 90 Day Fiancé with Geoffrey Paschel was arrested in Tennessee on felony theft charges. The news arrive on social media this week, and she was taken into custody on July 9. Read on to find out more details.

Shabooty reported in two posts on Instagram about the arrest, alleging that Malina was picked up due to an outstanding warrant from “another jurisdiction.” Her mugshot quickly circulated across social media. Obviously, it got TLC fans buzzing about her motives and possible deportation.
Initially, the charges against Malina were unclear, with her mugshot listing the offense as “W – OTHER JURISDICTION (NON-SPECIFIC).” However, the blogger later revealed that she was booked for a “Class E felony theft,” accused of stealing merchandise worth between “$1,000 and $2,500” from multiple Lowe’s home improvement stores between February 20 and May 12, 2025.
Court documents indicate that surveillance footage, social media posts, and even her visits to her fiancé, Geoffrey Paschel helped identify her as the suspect. She allegedly wore the same clothing during one of the thefts that she later wore while visiting Paschel in prison 5, per Sportskeeda.
Could She End Up Deported?
If convicted, Varya Malina faces one to six years in prison and a $3,000 fine. Additionally, her legal troubles could change her immigration status. Remember, she got her green card through the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program in 2021. It’s type of lottery, but a felony conviction may lead to deportation.
These days, under the current presidency, the government is taking a hard stance against non-citizens who break the law. One would assume that Varya Malina is aware of that. However, TLC fans need to remember that she is innocent until proven guilty.
Her mom is visiting her at the moment, so hopefully, they won’t have to fly back to Russia together.

Fans were quick to react to the news, with many of them saying that they felt shocked about the mess she found herself in. One Instagram user commented, “Varya was one of my favorite 90 Day Fiancé cast members. She really should know what not to do in America.”
Meanwhile, another one questioned, “What in the hell is she stealing? lol didn’t her guy give her everything????”
Others criticized her loyalty to Paschel, who is currently serving an 18-year prison sentence for aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, and interference with emergency calls. One fan wrote, “She gave up her career and good life for a man who’s in jail for heinous crimes and now she wants to be a criminal too? I don’t understand some women. Love shouldn’t make you do this.”

Despite the backlash, the former TLC reality TV star stayed active on social media. When Shabooty shared a post she’d put up on Stories, the admin wrote, “Varya’s bail was set at $2,000, and she made an appearance yesterday. And then she posted this on her IG stories. Is Varya delulu?”
Geoffrey’s lover had written, “I learned how HUGE my support system is. Thank you everyone who offered help and was genuinely worried. I LOVE YOU.” Her next court hearing is scheduled for July 14.
