On Christmas Eve, a young woman aged 19, Camila Mendoza Olmos, disappeared and urgent searches went into action across her Texas community in northwest Bexar County. The search, so far, has not been successful. Read on for more details.

A CLEAR Alert

It’s not known if a true crime has been committed, but the Texas Department of Public Safety takes the disappearance very seriously. So much so, that they issued a CLEAR Alert. The alert means that authorities classified her as a possibly endangered missing adult.

When ABC News reported an update on December 27, the reporters reminded folks that Camila was last seen around 6:58 AM near her San Antonio home. Surveillance footage showed her searching inside her vehicle before the recording stopped. Interestingly, her car stayed parked at the residence.

Of course, because the car remained behind, there’s a feeling that Camila may have left on foot. But there are other factors that concern her family.

She Left Her Phone Behind

Apparently, she always carried her phone wherever she went. But, it was found at her home, and notably, it was switched off. As she usually walked and kept in regular contact, that alone was suspicious.

Rosario Olmos, her mom, didn’t initially think anything of her daughter going outside. After all, she walked quite regularly. However, after about an hour and a half and she hadn’t returned, some red flags went up.

A Massive Search

Other news from the report revealed that the effort to find Camila has never stopped since she disappeared. Family, friends, and volunteers that numbered more than a hundred people combed the area near the intersection of Brawn Road and Mustang Ranch.

They checked through wooded areas, underneath overpasses, and everywhere they can think of. But, so far, they found nothing. The family and authorities hope that someone saw something. Camila was last seen wearing a Black North Face sweater with baby blue accents, baby blue shorts, and white shoes.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at (210) 335-6000.

The Search Still Goes On

There is also a possibility that when she went away, Camila might have carried her driver’s license and perhaps the keys to her car. Authorities don’t leave all the searching up to the community, and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office coordinated many of them.

Drones were also used, and members of the extended family arrived to help. They’d traveled some distance to help find their relative. As is usual in these cases, family members made emotional pleas for their daughter’s return. As the case remains active, they can only hope that someone steps forward with information.

Here are a few more responses from the discussion:

  • Probably she walked away to live free. She didnt want be traced since she left behind her phone.
  • This is a real mystery no one has cameras in that expensive neighborhood?
  • I hate stories of mysterious disappearances One minute a loved one is there & then all of a sudden they vanish. I cannot imagine the stress & worry.
