A lot has happened for Prince Andrew in recent years enough for many royal fans to wish he could stay indoors for the remainder of his days.
But is that happening? No, it’s not. Last Christmas, it seemed as if fans would finally get their wish when he skipped the Royal Family’s traditional Christmas morning service and was a no-show at the December 19 luncheon, but it seems he was only waiting for his Chinese spy story to blow over.
Even though I wouldn’t say that the story has completely blown over, the Duke still decided to join several members of his family for Easter church. Why, you ask? Well, a lot of people had thoughts.
Prince Andrew Accused of “Tasting the Waters” With Latest Outing
Prince Andrew, ex Sarah Ferguson, his sister Princess Anne and her husband Sir Timothy Laurence arrived together for the Easter church service on April 20 in the same car.
They were joined by daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and their husbands, and of course, King Charles. But did you know the VIPs that were missing from the event?
The Prince and Princess of Wales, who, even though they were originally rumored to have spent the day at home with their kids, actually attended St Mary Magdalene Church with the Middletons.
But the one thing on everyone’s mind remains: what was Prince Andrew doing out and about with the royal family during such a notable occasion.
Fans React To Prince Andrew’s Latest Royal Family Outing
This, of course, raised eyebrows from royal fans, leading one to ask, “Was Prince Andrew right to join other royals at an Easter service this Sunday? Should he keep his head down.”
The anti-monarchy group, Republic, reacted to this question in an unsurprising manner.
“He remains accused of serious sexual offences, accusations which prompted his family to pay off his accuser to the tune of £12m. And this is a matter for debate?” The organization’s CEO, Graham Smith, wrote on X.
“It’s clearly a testing of the water to reinstate him. Interesting that William and Catherine weren’t present because they realise he’s toxic to their brand,” another commenter said.
Another fan decided to give a more level-headed answer to the problem, writing, “I think he’s kept his head down quite admirably. This was a private service and he was entitled to attend. Personally I can’t stand this arrogant man but to me it’s all in the past. But I don’t want to see him get an important role in the RF.”
Well, the issue remains that Prince Andrew can choose to participate in private family gatherings, despite stepping down from all royal activities in 2019. He may not be a working royal, but he is still a part of the Royal Family.
