‘Sister Wives’ Robyn Brown Hints Kody’s Ex-Wives Played a Role in Family Divide

Standing up for Kody Brown has never been the sort of task that earns applause, but Robyn Brown continues to take it on anyway.

In the latest stretch of Sister Wives, viewers watched her once again step into the role of Kody’s most loyal defender — especially when it comes to his fractured relationships with many of his children.

According to Robyn, the tension isn’t rooted in Kody’s behavior at all. Instead, she believes years of subtle (and not-so-subtle) influence from his former wives have shaped how the kids see their father.

Robyn Says the Problem Isn’t Kody — It’s Influence From His Exes

The recent episode captured a moment that instantly stirred frustration from Christine Brown and Janelle Brown.

Robyn floated the idea that both women had nudged their kids to see Kody in a negative light — not necessarily through outright statements, but through everyday comments and reactions that children tend to absorb.

“I think there’s some hurt feelings and misunderstandings, and some influencing that’s been happening. Some pretty intense influencing,” she told Kody, who didn’t hesitate to agree.

Later in her confessional, Robyn expanded on that thought: “I don’t think parents actually completely realize how much little things they say actually influence the way their children think about the other parent.”

She reminded viewers of a reality inside plural marriage — “In plural marriage, Dad’s not around the same amount as Mom” — which she believes only amplifies the impact mothers have on their kids’ perspectives.

Christine, however, was done with the blame game. “I’m just exhausted and so tired of being blamed for how his kids feel about him. It’s his responsibility and not mine,” she said.

Janelle, with her usual dry humor, added in her own confessional, “Look, I wish I had a lot of influence on my adult children. Boy, things would be really different.”

Kody Admits a Little Fault… Then Slips Back Into Deflection Mode

In a rare moment of candor, Kody acknowledged he contributed to the problem. “I had a lot of mean things to say about their mothers,” he admitted. But the self-reflection didn’t linger long.

According to him, he has already done his part to mend things: “I’ve reached out to every one of my children, and multiple times. And if they don’t have a relationship with me, it’s because they’re not reciprocating.” With that, he seemed to return to familiar territory — assigning responsibility elsewhere.
