It’s been over two months since the true crime story broke about Rebecca Haro, who claimed her baby, Emmanuel, was kidnapped from a California parking lot. Well, the story didn’t add up to investigators, and recently, Jake Haro, the dad, admitted he killed his son. Now, Rebecca is back in the news. Did she confess as well? Read on to find out.

Jake Confessed

In mid-October, Jake, who allegedly claimed he killed the baby by rolling on him in bed, changed his story and pleaded guilty. At the time, he appeared before a Riverside courtroom and didn’t deny killing his son. He now faces one count each of murder, child endangerment, and filing a false police report.

Naturally, that doesn’t tie in with Rebecca’s story that her son was taken from her by a stranger. Consequently, true crime viewers wondered if she’d also pleaded guilty, if not to murder, then as an accessory. This week, Court TV on YouTube gave an update on her.

Did Rebecca Also Confess?

Correspondent Matt Johnson joined the conversation on October 29 and gave an update. He said:

The other of missing baby Emanuel Haro [was] back in a Southern California courtroom today and asking for her settlement conference to be pushed again this time to January of next year. Rebecca Haro’s last court date was moved after her husband’s shocking change of plea right before his settlement conference was set to begin.

He added, “today Rebecca Haro agreed to move her settlement conference by 85 days.”

Court Dialogue

When playing a recording of the hearing, it came out that basically, Rebecca Haro has not pleaded guilty. She “waived her right to a preliminary hearing held within 10 court days and concluded within 60 calendar days of your arraignment.” So, she needs to attend a felony settlement conference on January 21.

You will have to wait for months now to find out more about her case. Meanwhile, Jake Haro appears back in court on Monday, November 3. He will hear his sentencing on that day. Matt explained that it will “be a big day,” and there will probably be impact statements presented.
